• Leads the development and submission of investigator-initiated research protocols, contributing to study design, scientific rationale, and regulatory documentation.
• Reports to the Scientific Director, Senior or Associate Investigator, or designated program lead, and performs other duties as assigned to support research success and professional development.
• Supports protocol-specific research activities, including laboratory, clinical, or data-focused tasks, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Engages in scientific writing and supports the preparation of grant applications in coordination with internal teams and external collaborators.
• Collaborates with research staff, core teams, and investigators to coordinate study activities and ensure protocol adherence.
• Participates in committee meetings, academic discussions, and collaborative planning efforts as assigned by program leadership.
• Ensures compliance with all institutional, local, state, and federal policies and regulations governing the conduct of research and human subjects protections.
• Fulfills Institutional Review Board (IRB) and NIH training and compliance requirements, and maintains up-to-date documentation for all assigned studies.
• Reviews study-related documents, including protocols, consent forms, and investigator brochures, ensuring alignment with regulatory and institutional standards.
• Generates research funding from industry, federal, and non-federal sources to support research efforts, with a goal of meeting annual revenue targets as defined by the research institute ($250,000).
• Mentors post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, or junior staff by providing guidance in research tasks, data collection, and scientific development.
• Contributes to manuscript writing, abstract preparation, and the development of presentations that communicate research findings.
• Other duties as assigned.
