  • The Manager of Risk Management oversees the system for identification and analysis of loss or injury exposure, maintaining both mandatory and voluntary incident reporting systems.
  • Provides statistical analysis on areas of risk to identify, evaluate, eliminate, or reduce incidents in high-risk areas.
  • Coordinates risk education classes for new orienteers and provides continuing education on an annual and as-needed basis.
  • Serves as a conduit of information on legal questions and an advisory resource in risk matters for clinical staff.
  • Facilitates root cause analysis (RCA) projects for issues/errors with life-threatening potential or serious injury/death.
  • Reviews records and documentation on potentially compensable events and reports liability claims to administration and corporate risk management.
  • Assures proper and timely investigation of accidents and incidents, including gathering information and sequestering equipment.
  • Coordinates legal processes for scheduling statements, depositions, and trial appearances in response to subpoenas.
  • Facilitates the patient grievance process, ensuring grievances are investigated and directing inquiries to appropriate directors and managers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Competent in use of electronic medical record software. [Required]
  • A thorough understanding and continuing education of the regulatory environment including HIPAA Privacy Rules and Regulations. [Required]
  • Quick critical thinking and analytical skills for unassisted problem solving and conducting thorough, accurate compliance reviews and/or audits. [Required]
  • Personable and approachable to maintain good interpersonal relationships. [Required]
  • Ability to consistently interact with others in ways that enhance understanding, respect, cooperation, and problem-solving. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a collaborative style for interaction with a broad spectrum of healthcare disciplines. [Required]

  • Advanced knowledge of communication skills to effectively investigate risk concerns. [Required]
  • Bachelor's [Required]

  • In Marketing, Business, or related field

  • 3+ years in risk management or related management experience [Required]

  • An equivalent combination of education ad relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement:

  • Bachelors degree AND 3+ years of experience OR

  • Associates degree AND 5+ years of experience OR

  • High School Grad or Equivalent AND 7+ years of experience.

  • Driver's License (DL) [Required]

  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Preferred]

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) [Preferred]

  • Basic Life Support - Certification (BLS) [Preferred]
