What We Offer
~1 min read- The Manager of Risk Management oversees the system for identification and analysis of loss or injury exposure, maintaining both mandatory and voluntary incident reporting systems.
- Provides statistical analysis on areas of risk to identify, evaluate, eliminate, or reduce incidents in high-risk areas.
- Coordinates risk education classes for new orienteers and provides continuing education on an annual and as-needed basis.
- Serves as a conduit of information on legal questions and an advisory resource in risk matters for clinical staff.
- Facilitates root cause analysis (RCA) projects for issues/errors with life-threatening potential or serious injury/death.
- Reviews records and documentation on potentially compensable events and reports liability claims to administration and corporate risk management.
- Assures proper and timely investigation of accidents and incidents, including gathering information and sequestering equipment.
- Coordinates legal processes for scheduling statements, depositions, and trial appearances in response to subpoenas.
- Facilitates the patient grievance process, ensuring grievances are investigated and directing inquiries to appropriate directors and managers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Competent in use of electronic medical record software. [Required]
- A thorough understanding and continuing education of the regulatory environment including HIPAA Privacy Rules and Regulations. [Required]
- Quick critical thinking and analytical skills for unassisted problem solving and conducting thorough, accurate compliance reviews and/or audits. [Required]
- Personable and approachable to maintain good interpersonal relationships. [Required]
- Ability to consistently interact with others in ways that enhance understanding, respect, cooperation, and problem-solving. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a collaborative style for interaction with a broad spectrum of healthcare disciplines. [Required]

- Working clinical knowledge of hospital topics related to accreditation, regulatory compliance, etc. [Required]

- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. [Required]
- Ability to provide conflict resolution and fair negotiation skills when dealing with customers. [Required]
- Proficient in policy development and initiates programs and processes to ensure patient safety through risk/harm program reduction. [Required]
- Proficiency in preparing and presenting professional presentations. [Required]
- Advanced knowledge of communication skills to effectively investigate risk concerns. [Required]

In Marketing, Business, or related field
3+ years in risk management or related management experience [Required]
An equivalent combination of education ad relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement:
Bachelors degree AND 3+ years of experience OR

High School Grad or Equivalent AND 7+ years of experience.
Driver's License (DL) [Required]
Registered Nurse (RN) [Preferred]
Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) [Preferred]
Basic Life Support - Certification (BLS) [Preferred]
