Welder / Fabricator

Advantage Steel Fabrication, located in Saxonburg, PA, is seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator / Fitter to join our team. This position is responsible for fabricating heavy structural steel components used in major construction projects, including bridges, buildings, heavy equipment, and critical infrastructure.

As a Fabricator/Fitter at Advantage Steel, you will work hands-on in a highly skilled fabrication environment where your craftsmanship directly contributes to projects that support communities and infrastructure across the region.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive hourly wage along with an excellent benefits package, including:

Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Overtime opportunities are available as needed to support project schedules.

Advantage Steel Fabrication is a recognized leader in the steel fabrication industry, specializing in complex structural steel projects. Our capabilities include CNC machining, cutting, coping, welding, bending, and custom fabrication solutions.

Our shop produces structural steel components for a variety of projects, including bridges, buildings, foundation systems, locks and dams, and other specialized structures. We primarily fabricate carbon steel and stainless-steel components.

• 2+ years of experience in an AISC, AWS, ASME, or API-certified fabrication environment preferred
• Strong knowledge of structural steel fitting and fabrication processes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication drawings
• Experience with welding processes including SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW preferred
• Ability to understand and follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code - Steel preferred
• AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Code experience is a plus
• Ability to pass welder qualification testing in multiple positions
• Experience setting up and operating fabrication equipment such as:
  • Press brakes
  • Shears
  • Ironworkers
  • Drill presses/magnetic drills
  • Oxyfuel and plasma cutting equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school education preferred

SAFETY

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects, and in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. This position may require working at heights, around heavy equipment, around high voltage, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
