Responsibilities

  • Supervise, monitor, and develop warehouse associates across receiving, picking, and shipping to meet safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery goals.
  • Responsible for consistently applying policies, procedures and accountability standards while promoting teamwork across all warehouse functions.
  • Lead daily warehouse operations, making real-time decisions related to staffing, workload distribution, inventory discrepancies, equipment issues, and order priorities.
  • Meet EHS objectives and actively drive the safety culture at AFL by participating in the Observation Based Safety process, conduct safety audits, interact and engage with shift associates on the appropriate knowledge and use of Safe Work Instructions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment, receiving processes, and inventory transactions within the warehouse management system.
  • Support inventory control processes, including cycle counts, audits, and root cause analysis for discrepancies.
  • Organization – excellent ability to multitask and set priorities.
  • Attitude – maintains a positive demeanor while working on multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Teamwork – develops relationships across departments; comfortable in a leadership position.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (listening, verbal, and written) skills; comfortable presenting information in a team setting; able to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Biased towards action and results in order to achieve goals.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong math skills; ability to analyze problems and justify decisions.
  • Able to support weekend and night shift operations.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience supervising in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Specific Training of basic supervisory skills such as Leadership, Motivation, Conflict Resolution, Time Management, and EEOC compliance is preferred.
  • Experience with warehouse systems (WMS/Oracle or similar) preferred.
  • Experienced user of MS Outlook and Office (Excel and Word). Able to create well formatted documents in Excel and Word.
  • Warehouse environment with variable temperatures.  May require extended hours, including weekends.
  • Associates degree required, or relevant work experience
