As a Business Developer, you will shape this role from the ground up, working closely with the Director of Vennex. You will work from the trading floor at Beursplein 5 in Amsterdam, alongside experienced professionals in brokerage, trading, and compliance, with direct access to their knowledge and network.
This role suits someone who is energized by acquisition, client conversations, negotiating, and closing deals, and who would rather build a role themselves than step into an existing structure.
As a Business Developer, you are responsible for building new client relationships and driving growth for Vennex.
You will build the sales pipeline, guide prospects through the entire process — from first contact to signing and onboarding — and work directly with the Director of Vennex on positioning and market approach.
Success in this role means bringing new clients to Vennex and laying a strong commercial foundation for the years ahead.
Identify new opportunities within private markets, fintech, and financial services;
Actively approach potential clients and partners, including cold outreach;
Build and manage a high-quality sales pipeline;
Hold conversations with entrepreneurs, platforms, issuers, and financial intermediaries;
Deliver product demonstrations and presentations;
Translate client needs into suitable commercial proposals;
Guide prospects through the entire sales process;
Negotiate and close agreements;
Coordinate a smooth onboarding process together with Product, Development, Legal, Operations, Compliance, and Back Office teams;
Monitor market developments and identify new opportunities;
Contribute ideas regarding positioning, proposition, and growth strategy.
Vennex, part of AFS Group) is an in-house developed fintech platform for the administration, custody, and tradability of private securities: shares, bonds, and certificates that are not listed on a stock exchange.
The platform is built on regulated infrastructure and operates under an MTF license.
Vennex focuses on, among others:
Platforms that want to offer their clients secondary tradability, such as crowdfunding and investment platforms;
Companies that have issued bonds, shares, or certificates to investors and/or employees;
Issuers that want to provide investors with a professional dashboard environment;
Intermediaries and financial institutions that require regulated infrastructure for administration, custody, transfers, and trading.
The private capital market is growing rapidly. More companies are raising capital outside public markets, while lacking professional infrastructure for managing and trading their securities. This is the challenge Vennex addresses.

You are strong at building relationships and enjoy developing a new market.
You feel comfortable speaking with entrepreneurs, investment platforms, and financial professionals, and know how to build trust with a variety of stakeholders.
You enjoy creating your own opportunities, opening new conversations, and delivering results.
Bachelor's degree level of working and thinking ability;
1–3 years of experience in business development, B2B sales, or acquisition;
Experience with full-cycle sales, from prospecting to closing;
Experience in or knowledge of the securities industry, crowdfunding, venture capital, or investor relations is a strong plus;
Affinity with technology and digital platforms;
Excellent command of both Dutch and English.

Able to bring structure to a sales funnel;

You will become the first commercial hire at Vennex.
There is no existing structure to fit into, but there is direct access to the Director of Vennex and significant influence over how the commercial function will be shaped.
You will work on a product with strong market potential within private capital markets, combining the dynamics of a growing fintech platform with the stability of an established financial group.
