AGE Solutions is seeking an experienced RCDD Team Lead to support a large-scale campus-wide telecommunications infrastructure refresh for a federal customer in the Washington, DC area. This individual will lead and oversee structured cabling and telecommunications modernization efforts across a secure enterprise environment, ensuring all installations and infrastructure upgrades are executed in accordance with BICSI standards, customer requirements, and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership experience managing telecommunications infrastructure projects involving copper and fiber optic cabling, telecom room modernization, and large-scale enterprise network environments.

Candidates must live within a commutable distance of Washington, DC to work onsite full time, or be willing to relocate to the Washington, DC area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee structured cabling teams supporting campus-wide telecommunications infrastructure refresh and modernization efforts.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise installation activities involving Cat6 copper and fiber optic cabling across multiple facilities and secure environments.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with BICSI standards, customer requirements, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership for telecommunications infrastructure design, implementation, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Oversee MDF and IDF buildouts, cable plant upgrades, rack elevations, patch panel installations, backbone connectivity, and pathway management.
  • Review and validate telecom drawings, floor plans, cable schedules, labeling standards, and installation documentation.
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and government stakeholders to support successful project execution.
  • Manage daily technician activities, project timelines, material coordination, and quality assurance efforts.
  • Conduct site surveys and provide recommendations for telecommunications infrastructure improvements and modernization strategies.
  • Support testing, certification, and troubleshooting of copper and fiber optic cabling infrastructure.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, as-built drawings, inventory tracking, and project reporting are maintained throughout execution.
  • Assist with cutovers, migrations, and operational transition activities.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance.
  • Active BICSI RCDD certification.
  • Experience leading structured cabling or telecommunications infrastructure teams in enterprise or federal environments.
  • Strong knowledge of BICSI standards, telecommunications distribution methods, and structured cabling best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Cat6 copper and fiber optic infrastructure installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting MDF and IDF modernization efforts.
  • Ability to read and interpret telecom drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience managing telecommunications infrastructure projects across large campus or multi-building environments.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with cable testing and certification equipment.
  • Experience supporting federal or DoD customers in secure environments.
  • Fiber optic splicing experience or FOA certification.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure modernization or technology refresh initiatives.
  • Familiarity with outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in telecommunications rooms, construction areas, above ceilings, under raised floors, and on ladders or lifts as needed.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout the workday.
  • Ability to travel between multiple buildings or work areas across a campus environment.

The projected salary range for this position is $140,000+ annually. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including years of relevant experience, active security clearance level, certifications, technical skillset, contract requirements, and overall qualifications.
