Telecommunications Specialist

AGE Solutions is seeking a professional Telecommunications Specialist to support our DoD customer in Fort Belvoir, VA. The selected candidate will interface directly with contract and government leadership, manage and sustain local telecommunications solutions, and plan/complete projects on behalf of the customer.

• →Work independently, often as the sole team member supporting a large site or a member of a small team.
• →Responsible for directing technical work on projects.
• →Performs a variety of analyses and prepares appropriate documentation.
• →Prepares and makes briefings and presentations.
• →Leads team in on-site management of installations.
• →Works independently and installs, operates, maintains, configures, troubleshoots, and repairs IT systems devices, circuits, cables, components, software, and end-user devices, components, software and connectivity.
• →Assists in the development and management of project plans. This includes the review of task performance and work products for correctness, for adherence to design concepts and user requirements, and for progress in accordance with schedules.
• →Coordinates with the Vendor PM, COR, and Program point of contacts to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters.
• →Assist in the development of project plans, accounting for all deployment phases including initiation, site survey, implementation, post-installation, and sustainment.
• →Complete telecommunications moves, adds, changes, daily maintenance, repair, new installations, and testing as needed and attend meetings to maintain the highest level of voice communications.
• →Plan, install, troubleshoot, and sustain VoIP, analog, and ISDN solutions.
• →Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and document a wide variety of telecommunications circuits to include:
  • →Transport connections: SDH, SONET, WDM, OTN, MPLS, PDH, DSL, fiber and ordinary copper cables.
  • →Ethernet connections: Ethernet over microwave/MPLS/SDH/SONET, GPON, and carrier.
  • →Data connections: MPLS, IP, DCN, ATM and frame relays data connections.
  • →Voice connections: Customer voice connections, signal links, voice routes, voice core and access links, voice links to Public Address system (PA) systems used for Mass Notifications, and voice interconnects to other Telecommunications Providers.
  • →Video circuits to include Cable Television (CATV) from providers, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Video Teleconferencing (VTC), High Definition (HD), composite, component, and other video signal formats.
• →Configure and deliver hard phones and softphone solutions to customers as well as extension mobility profiles, voicemail, etc.
• →Provide asset management support.
• →Provide queue management for the assigned ServiceNow (SNOW) queue, ensuring that tickets, incidents, changes, and tasks are assigned, updated, and resolved within requirements.

• Must have seven (7) years of progressive IT experience.
  • Must have at least five technical projects involving telecommunications or network administration. At least one project must have occurred within the past three (3) years.
• Must possess a current DoD Secret clearance or a completed IT-II/NACLC/T3 investigation.
• Must reside within a commutable distance of Fort Belvoir, VA to work a full-time onsite schedule.

The projected salary range for this position is $75,000+ annually. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including years of relevant experience, active security clearance level, certifications, technical skillset, contract requirements, and overall qualifications.
