The EHS Manager plays a critical role in protecting our employees, supporting operational excellence, and helping our cooperative continue its tradition of producing award-winning dairy products safely and sustainably.
The salary range for this position is $95k-115k.

Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Provide EHS leadership, guidance, resources, and support for the Cabot and Montpelier campuses.
- →Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs that promote safe work practices and employee engagement.
- →Lead safety initiatives that foster a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset.
- →Conduct new hire safety orientation and deliver required annual training in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company requirements.
- →Partner with leaders and employees to identify, evaluate, and mitigate workplace hazards.
- →Serve as the primary resource and champion for Safety Committees, Emergency Response Teams, and site leadership.
- →Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- →Maintain all required EHS documentation, permits, records, and regulatory reports.
- →Conduct facility inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- →Evaluate equipment, processes, and work environments for safety and ergonomic improvements.
- →Recommend and implement appropriate engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- →Track, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics, trends, and key performance indicators.
- →Coordinate and support internal and external compliance audits and regulatory inspections.
- →Assist with workers' compensation case management, return-to-work programs, and injury prevention initiatives.
- →Monitor changes in EHS regulations and ensure ongoing compliance across both campuses.
- →Support sustainability and environmental compliance initiatives, including waste management and environmental reporting requirements.
- →Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and human resources teams to support business objectives and employee well-being.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead EHS programs and influence safety performance at all levels of an organization.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and EHS reporting systems.
- Ability to travel regularly between the Cabot and Montpelier campuses.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ASP (Associate Safety Professional), CHMM, or equivalent.
- Experience in food manufacturing, dairy processing, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience leading regulatory audits, environmental compliance programs, and safety management systems.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and behavior-based safety programs.
