A well-established funeral home group in Colorado Springs is seeking a Location Manager to help lead daily operations, support the funeral director team, and ensure families receive exceptional care. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced funeral service professional who is ready to step into a leadership role while remaining hands-on in service to families.
The organization serves approximately 500 families annually across multiple locations, with the majority of cases being cremation. The ideal candidate will bring strong funeral directing experience, operational leadership, and the ability to support a busy, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations for the funeral home location
- Lead, support, and develop the funeral director team
- Meet with families and assist with funeral arrangements as needed
- Coordinate funeral, memorial, and cremation services
- Ensure families receive compassionate, professional, and timely care
- Support embalming and preparation responsibilities as needed
- Help manage workflow, case volume, service schedules, and staff coverage
- Participate in and help coordinate the on-call schedule
- Maintain compliance with company standards, state regulations, and professional best practices
- Work closely with ownership and leadership to improve operations and team performance
- Help create a positive, accountable, and service-focused culture
Qualifications
- Licensed Funeral Director / Embalmer preferred
- Prior funeral home leadership or management experience strongly preferred
- Strong funeral directing experience required
- Embalming experience preferred
- Comfortable working in a cremation-heavy environment
- Ability to lead a team while remaining hands-on
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Professional, compassionate, reliable, and team-oriented
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
Work Environment
This role is based in Colorado Springs and supports a funeral home operation serving approximately 500 families per year. The company uses a third-party removal service for most removals, with staff rarely required to perform removals except in emergency situations.
The current team is looking to grow its licensed funeral director staff and needs a leader who can help stabilize operations, support staff, and provide consistent care to families.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated salary range: $70-80K, depending on experience
