Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

• check operating room scheduled for surgeries and procedures and coordinate accordingly for smooth running
• receives and identifies patients correctly for surgery/procedure
• assists in preoperative patient preparation and documentation pertaining to surgery
• assists physicians in complex surgeries such as Hysterectomy, laparotomy, and C-Section
• ensure time out process before surgery and assist in the safe transportation of patients within the unit and from OR to the ward and vice versa
• comply with Operating Room (OR) and infection control policies and standards
• ensures proper cleaning of OR area before and after surgical procedure
• maintain unit inventory of capital equipment and participate in planned preventive maintenance
• operate all equipment as per manufacturer’s recommendation and ensure compliance to safety policies and reports
• timely report any problem with equipment to supervisor for rectification
• ensures safe handling, cleaning and disinfection of the soiled surgical instruments and liaise with the relevant department for sterilization 
• ability to mentor and train new team members in the provision of safe and quality patient care

Requirements:

You should have:

• at least Intermediate while having Bachelor’s degree will be preferred
• a Diploma of OR Technician 
• at least five years of relevant experience in organizations of good repute
• sound knowledge of OR-related things, including scrub techniques, operating room instruments and Sepsis
• willingness to work in shift duties and at other locations
• ability to effectively work independently as well as in teams and handle work pressure.
