The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality, and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of five major operational sections: Epidemiology & biostatistics, Health policy & management, Population & reproductive health, Environmental health & climate change, and non-communicable diseases & mental health.
This is a grant funded contractual position.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- coordinate and support field-based research and project activities across assigned districts of KP
- conduct regular field visits and support implementation, monitoring, and follow-up of project activities at community and facility levels
- coordinate with district administration, health departments, health facilities, community representatives, and other relevant stakeholders
- support community mobilization, awareness activities, stakeholder engagement, and field-level communication
- assist with baseline assessments, surveys, interviews, community assessments, and other field data collection activities
- support identification, registration, referral, and follow-up of beneficiaries or participants, where required
- assist in training and orientation of community and field teams on project activities, data collection tools, and relevant procedures
- collect, verify, compile, and maintain accurate field data and records in accordance with project requirements
- support preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly field reports and contribute to project progress reporting
- monitor field activities and identify implementation challenges, escalating issues to the project team for timely resolution
- maintain documentation of field visits, meetings, community activities, referrals, and other project-related engagements
- participate in district and provincial coordination meetings and support liaison with relevant government and implementing partners
- assist with logistics and coordination required for field activities, meetings, trainings, and community-level interventions
- support data entry, basic data management, and preparation of summaries using MS Excel and other relevant tools
- undertake other field-based research and project responsibilities assigned by the supervisor or Project PI
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Sciences, Public Health, Health Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field
- relevant experience in field-based research, community mobilization, public health programmes, social sector projects, surveys, or community-based interventions
- at least 2-3 years of experience in community engagement, field data collection, reporting, referrals, or coordination with government and district-level stakeholders will be preferred
- experience working in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in district or community settings, will be an advantage
- proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Word and Excel
- good written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively in local languages
- willingness and ability to undertake frequent travel to assigned districts and field sites
