Work within the R&I team to formulate new products with an emphasis on creativity and innovation. Support the innovation and execution of new product development of personal care products.
The main purpose of the Research & Innovation Chemist II role is in the development and execution of new product formulation and existing product improvements. The main responsibilities for this role are: preparing laboratory prototypes of various haircare, skincare, and color cosmetics; maintaining clean and safe laboratory space; compliance with all current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) safety requirements and Standard Operating Practices – (SOPs); provide support to manufacturing and quality control as needed.
Responsibilities
~2 min readEducation, Knowledge, and Experience:
- →Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field
- →5+ years laboratory experience in cosmetics or personal care products; batching experience preferred.
- →Strong knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulation techniques, and manufacturing processes.
- →Knowledge in current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Documentation Practices
(GDP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 21 CFR, and other regulatory requirements such as ISO 22716.
- →Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- →Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Spanish a plus).
- →Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and SAP preferred.
