Are you a detail-oriented and analytical professional with experience in financial planning, governance, vendor management, and digital operations?
Reporting to the Manager, Digital & Innovation Administration, the Digital & Innovation Planning & Governance Specialist provides administrative, financial, and governance support for Digital & Innovation programs, policies, and processes. This role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, procurement, contract administration, vendor management, and reporting activities that support the successful delivery of Digital & Innovation initiatives.
Working closely with Digital & Innovation leadership, Corporate Finance, Procurement, vendors, and business stakeholders, the Specialist supports governance and compliance activities while leveraging data analytics, Power BI, AI-enabled tools, and automation technologies to improve reporting, streamline processes, and enhance decision-making across the organization.
What you’ll do
Financial Planning & Reporting
Collaborate with Digital & Innovation management and Corporate Finance to develop and manage Digital & Innovation budgets and forecasts, including initiating and closing Capital and Operating work orders.
Develop, manage, and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards for budgets, forecasts, vendor spend, and financial KPIs.
Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline financial and administrative processes, including purchase order processing, invoice matching, and forecasting activities.
Perform in-year and year-over-year trending analysis to support planning and decision-making.
Governance & Compliance
Partner with the Digital & Innovation Management Team to support governance accountabilities, including policies, procedures, frameworks, and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with Financial Reporting to support compliance with capitalization policies, IFRS requirements, and OEB regulations, including cloud cost capitalization.
Ensure adherence to legislative, regulatory, and Health & Safety policies, procedures, and standards.
Procurement, Vendor & Contract Management
Liaise with Corporate Procurement to coordinate procurement activities for Digital & Innovation products and services.
Provide administrative support for Digital & Innovation contract management, including contract modifications, renewals, and closure activities.
Lead vendor management analytics, including contract tracking, invoice validation, spend monitoring, cost optimization, and vendor performance reporting.
Digital Planning & Administration
Apply knowledge of IT deployment methodologies to analyze operational expenditures and support Digital & Innovation planning.
Manage monthly telecom billing processes, including usage reporting, cost allocation, and charge-backs to business units.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are
Education & Specialized Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Must hold and maintain a valid class “G” driver’s license.
Understanding of budget and forecasting administration and management.
Understanding of procurement management processes.
Understanding of IT deployment methodologies.
Understanding of software license management processes.
Understanding of utility industry business processes and practices.
Proficiency with MS Office applications.
Experience
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in IT department administration.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in budget and forecast management.
Experience in a unionized utility environment an asset.

Advanced Financial Management: Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Data Analysis and Visualization: Proficiency in Power BI for report and dashboard creation.
Strategic Planning: Skill in aligning IT deployment with operational expenses for insightful data analysis.
Procurement and Contract Management: Experienced in procurement processes and contract oversight.
Communication and Collaboration: Strong ability to work with diverse teams.
Advanced MS Excel Skills: High proficiency in Excel for complex data management.
Analytical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Exceptional at analyzing data and solving complex problems.
Organizational Skills: Adept at multitasking and prioritizing in a dynamic environment.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Commitment to leveraging innovation for process enhancement.
Analytical Planning Skills: Ability to assess decision impacts and plan strategically.
Exceptional Written and Presentation Skills: Strong in organizing and delivering compelling information.
Project Management: Proficient in managing multiple projects within deadlines.
Conflict Negotiation: Skilled in resolving disputes and influencing outcomes.
