Director of Nursing for Skilled Nursing

Lead clinical care at Thorne Crest: $99,000–$116,000/year, with a full-time Monday–Friday schedule and on-call responsibility every other week.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee the daily clinical and administrative operations of the nursing department
  • Lead nursing staff and nurse managers in delivering high-quality resident care
  • Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Manage staffing levels, performance management, training, delegation, and staff development
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and licensing requirements
  • Monitor quality of care and develop plans of correction when needed
  • Collaborate with physicians, medical professionals, residents, families, and other healthcare organizations
  • Manage nursing department resources, including medications, medical supplies, equipment, and inventory
  • Prepare and manage the nursing department's annual budget
  • Support residents' comfort, privacy, dignity, and overall well-being
  • Provide clinical guidance and participate in direct resident care during emergencies or as needed
  • Maintain readiness for annual state and federal inspections

What You'll Need (Required):

  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state(s) in which you practice
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in nursing
  • At least 1 year of experience in gerontological nursing, rehabilitative, and restorative clinical practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nursing and medical practices, regulations, and guidelines related to skilled nursing facilities
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to effectively communicate with residents, families, staff, and other customers

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
  • 2+ years of experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
  • Experience in healthcare management and operations, quality management, staff development, and resident and family support

Schedule:
Full-time, Monday–Friday:

  • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • On-call every other week

Pay and Benefits:

  • $99,000–$116,000/year, based on experience
