About the Role
~1 min readAmplitude is building analytics for the agent era. Our Agents can investigate, create signals and surface patterns nobody thought to look for. As our Principal Product Marketing Manager for Agents, you’ll define how we tell that story to the market—from our agent capabilities themselves to the observability layer that helps teams understand if their agents are actually driving results.
This is a category-defining role. You’ll shape how developers, product teams, and enterprise buyers think about agents, observability, and evaluation. You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and GTM teams to turn complex systems into narratives that actually land—and evolve them as fast as the market does.
If you’d rather define a category than inherit one, you’ll feel right at home.
- Define and own Amplitude’s point of view on agent analytics—what “good” looks like, how teams should evaluate agents, and why behavioral data is critical to improving real-world outcomes (not just model benchmarks)
- Turn deeply technical concepts into market-shaping narratives—connecting agent architecture (LLM evals, context engineering, tracing, orchestration) to business impact
- Lead 0→1 launches for agent capabilities—building positioning, demos, and technical deep-dives that reflect how teams actually build today using tools like Cursor, Claude Code, LangChain, and internal eval frameworks
- Create proof that moves skeptical, technical buyers— Work with customers to establish best practices and learnings that drive adoption. Turn customer feedback from AI builders, startups, and enterprise teams into stronger signals for the product roadmap. Build the case studies and best practices that drive adoption.
- Build and iterate GTM motion for the builder audience—reaching AI-native builders where they are (developer communities, Discord, X, hackathons), testing hands-on experiences over static content, and refining based on what actually drives adoption
- Act as the connective tissue between Product, Engineering, and GTM—bringing back insights from teams building with tools like OpenAI, Anthropic, and custom agent stacks to influence roadmap and positioning
- Experience working with AI-native products, developer tools, and a point of view on where this space is going
- Strong technical curiosity (and ideally fluency) in areas like LLM evals, agent architecture, and context management
- A knack for multi-audience storytelling—you know when to speak like an engineer, a PM, or an executive (and when not to mix the three)
- A bias toward building over talking—you’d rather ship a demo, test it with real users, and iterate than debate messaging in a doc
- Comfort operating in ambiguity—you don’t wait for a playbook, you start writing it
- 6–7+ years of product marketing experience in developer tools, AI/ML, or highly technical products
- Experience leading product launches and driving cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into clear positioning and messaging that resonates with target audiences
- Experience working with or marketing to technical buyers such as developers, data teams, or AI product teams
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt messaging based on audience, context, and market maturity
