Really want someone with Real Estate transactional process but if not then legal experience with corporate transactional experience will suffice.

 

The Paralegal is assigned to designated matters, clients, projects, and/or attorneys and applies specialized real estate knowledge to perform legal research, draft documents, execute technical procedures, and provide direct support across a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of complex commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, joint ventures, and leasing.
  • Research, analyze, and summarize facts, documents, and issues relevant to real estate transactions.
  • Review, draft, and revise a wide range of real estate documents, including purchase and sale agreements, loan documents and closing deliverables, leases, amendments, and related lease documentation, easements, declarations, restrictive covenants, and entity formation and governance documents.
  • Coordinate and prepare closing checklists, timelines, and closing binders; manage all closing deliverables and resolve issues in collaboration with supervising attorneys and opposing counsel.
  • Order, review, and analyze title commitments, title policies, exceptions, endorsements, and surveys; identify issues and propose curative measures.
  • Coordinate with title companies, surveyors, and third-party vendors to resolve title and survey matters.
  • Track and summarize documents, prepare due diligence memoranda, and coordinate with clients and third parties.
  • Review zoning reports, environmental reports, and other due diligence materials and identify key issues for attorney and client attention.
  • Take appropriate action to monitor and meet all deadlines; maintain detailed transaction timelines and task lists.
  • Establish priorities, manage multiple projects concurrently, and ensure work products are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, practice support, and other firm departments to facilitate efficient delivery of legal services.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact, where appropriate, for internal and external stakeholders on assigned matters.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and informal training to junior and mid-level paralegals and practice support staff on real estate procedures, best practices, and firm standards.
  • Contribute to practice group initiatives, process improvements, and knowledge management efforts.
  • Maintain the firm’s official files in accordance with firm policies and procedures, including consistent use of the document management system.
  • Ensure proper organization, indexing, and retention of all transaction documents and correspondence.
  • Track, record, and submit billable and non-billable time daily in accordance with firm guidelines and to meet or exceed minimum billable hour requirements.
  • Proactively manage and prioritize daily workload and promptly communicate when deadlines or responsibilities may be at risk.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all firm and client information.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum five (5) years as a Real Estate OR Corporate Transacational paralegal in a law firm or professional environment with a focus on complex commercial real estate transactions.
  • Advanced knowledge of real estate transaction processes, title and survey review, entity formation, and closing procedures.
  • Experience with database file management systems such as iManage.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), document management systems, and relevant real estate/title platforms.
