The Enterprise Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, virtualization, networking, and security platforms across the organization. This position requires a collaborative and adaptable technology professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving systems and processes, and contributing to a mission-driven organization. The role requires flexibility to support operational needs, including occasional after-hours or weekend work.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and support enterprise infrastructure, systems, cloud services, and organizational applications.
- Support Microsoft enterprise technologies, virtualization platforms, networking infrastructure, storage, backup, and security systems.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and support operational continuity across enterprise environments.
- Support enterprise security, endpoint protection, backup, recovery, and vulnerability management solutions.
- Use scripting and automation tools to improve operational efficiency and systems administration.
- Collaborate with team members, vendors, and business partners on operational support and technology initiatives.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, standards, and system configurations.
- Provide technical assistance and support to end users as needed.
- Participate in maintenance activities, on-call support, and critical incident response.
Technology Environment
This role supports a diverse enterprise technology environment including Microsoft 365, Windows Server, VMware, Cisco networking, enterprise storage and backup platforms, cloud services, endpoint security, and infrastructure automation technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Professional experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, systems administration, cloud services, networking, virtualization, or other IT operations sufficient to successfully perform the technical competencies and operational responsibilities of the role following onboarding and training.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, systems, and operational issues across enterprise technology environments.
- Experience supporting Microsoft enterprise technologies and related infrastructure services.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Technical Competencies
Candidates selected for this role should be able to:
- Support and administer enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, and related operational technologies.
- Troubleshoot systems, networking, authentication, virtualization, and endpoint-related issues with minimal supervision.
- Work effectively in a high-availability environment where uptime, reliability, and security are critical.
- Use technical documentation, vendor resources, and troubleshooting methods to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
- Support maintenance activities, incident response, and infrastructure improvements across multiple technology platforms.
- Adapt to evolving technologies, operational priorities, and organizational needs in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting highly available or mission-critical enterprise environments.
- Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
- Experience with virtualization, cloud, networking, backup, or enterprise security technologies.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell.
- Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, cloud, or related industry certifications.
Physical Requirements
- Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects

Compensation & Benefits Information
The base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for Incentive Compensation in accordance with APFC’s Incentive Compensation Plan, with a maximum annual bonus of 5% of base salary, tied to total fund performance.
