Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineer writes programs for CNC manufacturing equipment and create shop routers. You will develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. You will also recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls.

  • Create manufacturing parts routers and work instructions from engineering drawings and specifications. Select equipment and establish processes and associated time standards to be employed during production.
  • Use CAD/CAM software to generate accurate and highly efficient programs for turning, drilling, milling, punching and burning operations.
  • Create nests for optimal utilization of burn tables.
  • Propose and implement manufacturing cost reduction and quality improvement ideas. Provide feedback and recommended solutions to Engineering, Sales, and Costing departments on any identified issues or opportunities for improvement.
  • Work with suppliers and production personnel to analyze and select the most cost effective production speeds, feeds, tooling, jigs, fixtures and software to be used during production.
  • Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new products and train others as required.
  • Research, recommend and provide cost justification for various tools, machinery and equipment.
  • Analyze and plan work flow, space requirements and equipment layout.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.  Associate degree required.
  • At least 2 years’ manufacturing experience with knowledge of machine tools.
  • Must be able to read drawings.
  • Proficient in computer assisted manufacturing (CAM).
  • Candidates must be willing to work on-site at our Buffalo location.
