About the Role

~2 min read

We’re looking for a Content Marketing Partner to help our Creative Services team and contribute across the full content lifecycle, from strategy and planning through creation, review, and distribution. You'll help define the brief rather than receive it, shaping messaging, format, and channel decisions alongside campaign stakeholders before the writing starts, then carrying that thinking through to the finished assets.

This is a senior, hands-on role with genuine range. Some weeks you'll be building a long-form playbook from interviews with product marketing managers and engineers. Other weeks you'll adapt one webinar into a blog post, an email sequence, a landing page, and a set of social snippets, then review a battlecard before it reaches the sales team. Scope, audience, and complexity shift from project to project, and the work rewards someone who adjusts their approach to match.

You'll work inside Appfire's Agile, squad-based marketing operating model, partnering with product marketing, demand generation, design, and web. Content at Appfire is a team effort: work moves through shared planning, peer review, and editorial feedback before it ships.

You'll report to the Editor-in-Chief, who sets the editorial standard, protects the team's focus, and makes sure content decisions connect back to business priorities. You'll also work closely with another senior content marketer, sharing coverage across campaigns, reviewing drafts, and dividing work based on what each project needs.

AI is part of how we work here. You'll use our approved AI tools to move faster on research, drafting, and repurposing, and you'll bring the judgment that decides what's actually ready to ship.

Responsibilities

Appfire has been consistently recognized for company growth, culture, corporate social responsibility, and product excellence and has been included among the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, Inc. Best Workplaces, BuiltIn Best Places to Work, and Inc. 5000. • Join early-stage campaign development with product marketing, demand generation, and design, weighing in on messaging, format, and channel choices before drafting starts.
  • Connect individual pieces back to the campaigns, audiences, and business priorities they support.
  • Run in Agile sprints across Jira and Confluence alongside cross-functional squads.
  • Produce blog posts, emails, newsletters, landing pages, guides and playbooks, assessments, sales enablement one-pagers, battlecards, ad copy, web copy, and video scripts.
  • Research and write original long-form content to support demand generation, SEO, AIO, and partner marketing.
  • Interview product marketing managers and subject matter experts across the company to produce accurate, original content for Jira admins, developers, ITSM professionals, and Agile practitioners.
  • Move between registers as easily as you move between formats, from a technical deep-dive for admins to an executive summary for business leads.
  • Repurpose existing Appfire content into new formats and new channels.
  • Partner with the design team to translate written content into video, event booth signage, infographics, and other visual formats.
  • Spot the distribution opportunity in work that's already done, and pitch it.
  • Apply Appfire's brand voice and AP style consistently, with attention to grammar, clarity, tone, and reader experience.
  • Review and improve content for technical and non-technical audiences alike.
  • Flag competitive claims, product capability statements, or anything that needs legal or product marketing sign-off before it goes out.
  • Use Appfire's approved AI tools and workflows to speed up research, drafting, refining, and repurposing.
  • Catch what AI gets wrong: clichés, generic phrasing, unsupported claims, or anything that doesn't sound like Appfire.
  • Work within Appfire's existing AI governance guidelines. This role doesn't own governance, but it does require applying AI responsibly.
  • 5+ years of content marketing or content writing experience, ideally in B2B SaaS. (bonus points if you’ve got Atlassian ecosystem experience)
  • Regular, hands-on experience using AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) in a professional content workflow, with a track record of judging when AI output is ready to ship and when it isn’t.
  • Strong writing and editing skills across formats, comfortable moving between a landing page, an email, and a long-form guide in the same week.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment, ideally with Jira and Confluence.
  • Comfort participating in early-stage campaign and strategy discussions, not just executing a finished brief.
  • Enough technical fluency to interview an engineer and write an accurate deep-dive from it, not just a high-level product marketing gloss.
  • Nice to have: experience using AI tools like custom GPTs, Rovo Agents, Claude Projects, or Claude Skills as part of a content workflow.
  • Nice to have: experience writing for Jira admins, developers, project and process owners, or ITSM professionals.
