As a Technical Artist specializing in Unity, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing our games. This role involves close collaboration with art and technical team members to deliver high-quality gameplay experiences.
- Location: Barcelona (Hybrid — 4 days in office, 1 day remote)
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new game features.
- →Pipeline Optimization: Streamline art asset creation, export, and integration processes.
- →Animation and VFX: Collaborate with artists in order to create best in class animations and VFX, and then collaborate with developers to integrate these seamlessly.
- →Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize art assets (sprites, textures, materials, particles) for performance across target platforms. Monitor builds and identify performance bottlenecks.
- →Documentation and Training: Create documentation for art pipelines and tools, and train artists on asset best practices.
- →Tool Development: Create and maintain custom tools and scripts to enhance artist efficiency.
- →Shader Development: Develop and maintain shaders for various visual effects and material properties.
Requirements
~1 min read- Deep knowledge of Unity’s rendering pipeline and VFX systems.
- Proven experience optimizing game performance, memory, and build sizes within Unity.
- Strong understanding of 2D art pipelines, including animations, and the ability to troubleshoot art-related issues.
- Expertise in C# and advanced understanding of object-oriented programming principles for tools and pipeline development.
- Experience with Git and/or other VCS
- Experience developing custom tools and workflows for artists using Unity’s Editor scripting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for both artistic and technical quality.
- Strong communication skills and ability to bridge the gap between art and engineering teams.
