Join Aprio's Resource Management team and you will help clients maximize their opportunities.  Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Resource Manager to join their dynamic team.
 
The Resource Manager aligns workforce capacity, skills, and availability with engagement demand. This role owns resource allocation, resolves staffing risks, improves utilization and leverage, and provides leadership with data-driven workforce insights to support operational and financial objectives. Responsibilities include staffing, capacity planning, forecasting, resource optimization, and cross-functional workforce coordination.
Key Responsibilities
  • Allocate resources based on skills, experience level, availability, timing, and engagement requirements. 
  • Partner with practice leaders, job managers, and resource pod leaders to balance workloads and align staffing with client commitments.
  • Monitor capacity, utilization, leverage, scheduled-versus-actual performance, and forecast accuracy; identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Resolve staffing conflicts, urgent resource needs, delays, and workload imbalances while communicating decisions and schedule changes effectively.
  • Maintain accurate resource plans, schedules, open needs, placeholders, skills inventories, and workforce data across resource management systems.
  • Lead recurring resource alignment meetings focused on supply and demand, staffing decisions, cross-utilization, forecasting, and workforce risks.
  • Manage workforce forecasting and capacity planning to identify future demand, skills gaps, staffing requirements, and hiring needs.
  • Coordinate cross-pod, onshore, offshore, outsourced, and integration-related staffing activities to optimize resource deployment.
  • Oversee preparation pools and unassigned-work queues to ensure timely staffing and workload progression.
  • Support adoption of workforce planning processes, reporting tools, resource management systems, and strategic workforce planning initiatives.

    Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Operations, Finance, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Tax resource management, workforce planning, project staffing, operations, or a related discipline.
  • Experience managing resource allocation, capacity planning, utilization, and workforce forecasting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce, utilization, and operational performance data.
  • Experience using workforce management, project management, scheduling, and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, balance competing priorities, and resolve staffing conflicts.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, relationship management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in professional services, consulting, accounting, tax, audit, or another project-based environment.
  • Experience with strategic workforce planning, skills inventory management, and capacity modeling.
  • Experience with ProStaff, Power BI, Workday, Practice Engine, CCH Workflow, or similar workforce and reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of utilization, leverage, forecasting, demand planning, and workforce optimization methodologies.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), workforce planning certification, or related credential.
