Are you passionate about connecting great people with meaningful careers? The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler is looking for an energetic, organized, and people-focused Human Resources Recruiter to help us attract and hire talented individuals who make a difference in the lives of others every day.
As a key member of our Human Resources team, you'll play an important role in shaping our workforce by recruiting, screening, onboarding, and supporting new employees throughout the hiring process.
Responsibilities
~1 min readIn this role, you will:
- →Manage recruitment efforts for open positions across the agency, including job postings, sourcing candidates, screening applicants, conducting interviews, and extending offers.
- →Create a positive candidate experience by guiding applicants through every step of the hiring and onboarding process.
- →Conduct pre-employment screenings, reference checks, and background investigations to ensure compliance with agency and regulatory requirements.
- →Coordinate onboarding activities while partnering with hiring managers, IT, leadership, and new employees to ensure a smooth transition into their roles.
- →Schedule and coordinate employment-related medical testing and other required pre-employment processes.
- →Build and maintain relationships with colleges, employment agencies, professional organizations, and community partners to develop strong candidate pipelines.
- →Represent The Arc at job fairs, recruitment events, community outreach programs, and training opportunities.
- →Support HR programs and compliance activities, including DMV checks, Medicaid Exclusion checks, Justice Center checks, employment verifications, PPD records, and employee referral initiatives.
- →Assist with tracking recruitment metrics and staffing needs to help achieve hiring goals and reduce turnover.
- →Perform other duties as assigned by the Human Resource Manager and Chief Human Resources Officer.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Two years of recruitment, human resources, or related experience.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email, internet-based applications, and Windows operating systems.
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with candidates, employees, managers, and leadership.
- Knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and hiring best practices.
- Experience conducting interviews and evaluating candidate qualifications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve recruitment and retention goals.
