As a Maintenance Mechanic, your main duty is to complete daily inspection of machines on the production floor, trouble shoot and resolve all machine malfunctions in a timely manner. You will work closely with your team as well as with members of the Production and Engineering team to ensure smooth operation of all machineries and minimize impact on production.
You will work under the Maintenance Supervisor, collaborating with other maintenance technicians and mechanics to ensure regular inspections, repairs, and maintenance of machinery for optimal uptime and availability.
Provide immediate support to factory employees for technical issues with machines and quickly troubleshoot and resolve problems to minimize production delays and costs.
Follow the maintenance schedule set by the leadership team in Facilities to perform regular quality service and preventive maintenance on various sewing, taping, press, and other production equipment
Proactively identify recurring machine issues and suggest corrective actions to Senior Mechanic and Manager to address root causes
Calibrate machinery to maintain quality standards
Timely and accurately document all maintenance/service activities in the maintenance log.
Assemble, calibrate, and reset new machinery, including sewing and heat press machines
Install attachments and innovate or repair tools as needed by production
Assist in production layout changes, including machine setup and relocation
Adhere to and enforce all safety procedures during repairs to ensure all machines meet safety standards
Educate employees on the importance and use of safety features
Adhere to and enforce all safety procedures during repairs.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following 6S principles
You have formal training in mechanical related trades and apprenticeship experiences
You have a minimum of 3-5 years of mechanical related experiences or a combination of education and experiences
You are detail oriented with a keen eye to the root of the right problem with the ability to find the right solution.
You have good communication skills and can relay important and relevant information to coworkers in the proper operation and maintenance of machines.
You can work well under minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
You have strong interpersonal skills with ability to deal with difficult situations with tact and professional.
You can balance autonomy and collaboration.
You seek the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment.
Assets:
Related work experience in the following fields Mechanical, Plumbing, Carpentry
Relevant experience working in building maintenance, equipment maintenance
You have previous experience assembling, calibrating, and repairing different kinds of sewing machines, especially single needle sewing machines
