This role is responsible for leading the strategy, content creation, and execution of organic social media across platforms, with a strong emphasis on static imagery, GIFs, and short-form video (Reels, Shorts, TikTok).

The ideal candidate is both a storyteller and a content creator-someone who can concept, capture, and produce compelling social assets that drive engagement, expand audience reach, and deepen connection to our productions and community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Social Media Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute platform-specific social media strategies that drive engagement, audience growth, and brand awareness

  • Own day-to-day management of social channels, including planning, posting, and community engagement
  • Monitor platform trends and emerging formats to continuously evolve strategy and content approach

Content Creation & Video Production

  • Create original, platform-native content (graphic, video, etc.) that reflects the voice, energy, and storytelling of Arena Stage productions
  • Concept, capture, and edit high-performing short-form video content (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)
  • Collaborate with internal teams (artistic, production, marketing) to identify and execute content opportunities
  • Attend rehearsals, events, and performances as needed to capture behind-the-scenes and in-the-moment content

Influencer & Partnership Support

  • Support the execution of influencer campaigns in collaboration with the Integrated Marketing Specialist
  • Assist in identifying creators and managing content coordination to ensure alignment with campaign goals
  • Help track performance and surface insights to inform future partnerships

Analytics & Optimization

  • Monitor performance metrics across platforms, including engagement, reach, and video performance
  • Translate data into actionable insights to refine content strategy and improve results
  • Provide regular reporting on social performance and key learnings

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in social media management, digital content creation, or a related field
  • Proven experience creating and editing short-form video content for social platforms
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, platform best practices, and audience engagement strategies
  • Proficiency in tools such as Canva, social media scheduling platforms, and video editing software (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro)
  • Experience with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Excellent storytelling instincts with a strong visual and creative sensibility
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Outgoing, collaborative, and comfortable capturing content in live, fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in arts, entertainment, or live events
  • Familiarity with influencer marketing and creator partnerships
  • Basic knowledge of paid social or campaign integration is a plus

Working Conditions

  • In-office work, with an ability to be hybrid as needed
  • Regular evening and weekend availability required for performances, events, and content capture

What Success Looks Like

  • Engaging, high-quality social content that reflects the vibrancy of Arena Stage
  • Growth in audience engagement and platform reach
  • Strong alignment between social storytelling and broader marketing campaigns
  • A consistent, dynamic digital presence that brings the live theater experience to life online
