Asante has an experienced and skilled team of mine finders, builders and operators, with extensive experience in Ghana. Our experienced team members are our most precious asset, having discovered, explored and developed more than 24Moz of gold resources and reserves in Ghana; and having managed Ghana’s largest underground mine.
About the Role
~1 min read- Comply with all site safety rules, policies and environmental requirements.
- Assist with field activities such as soil sampling, rock chip sampling, trenching and drill site preparation.
- Operate and maintain survey and sampling equipment as directed.
- Support drill rig operations, including sampling, core handling, and transportation of geological materials.
- Ensure that all samples are clearly labelled, bagged, and recorded according to established QA/QC procedures.
- Assist in field mapping, preparation of grids, and setting out sampling lines under geologist supervision.
- Provide logistical support in transporting materials, equipment, and supplies to and from field sites.
- Conduct daily inspections of assigned tools, vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or anomalies.
- Maintain exploration field camps and ensure safe and clean working environments.
- Record field data in notebooks or digital devices accurately and submit promptly to supervising geologist.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting ways to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
- Diploma, Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in exploration fieldwork, preferably in greenfield or near-mine programs.
- Must have a Valid Ghanaian driver’s license.
- Familiarity with soil, rock and core sampling procedures.
- Ability to use handheld GPS, compasses and basic field survey tools.
- Knowledge of QA/QC practices in sample handling.
