Asante Gold Corporation is a gold exploration, development and operating company with a high-quality portfolio of projects and mines in Ghana. Asante is currently operating the Bibiani and Chirano Gold Mines and continues with detailed technical studies at its Kubi Gold Project for early production.

All mines and projects are located on the prolific Bibiani and Ashanti Gold Belts. Asante is also exploring its Keyhole, Fahiakoba, and Betenase projects for new discoveries, all adjoining or along strike of major gold mines near the centre of Ghana’s Golden Triangle. Asante is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange and the OTCQX Market. We co-listed our shares on the Ghana Stock Exchange to allow a whole new group of Ghanaian investors the opportunity to invest in the growth of their own local gold mining industry.

About the Role

Promote Health and Safety at the workplace and follow the required safety rules and regulations as well as policies and responsibilities.
Ensure EHS management plans (relating to Exploration) are executed to deliver above-average performance in these key areas.
Plan, coordinate, and conduct exploration activities including mapping, soil sampling, drill rig management, core logging, managing field logistics, collecting geological data.
Contribute to the generation of prospective targets by reviewing and integrating various geological data sets.
Conduct internal audits of the geology/exploration management system and reconcile these against external audits.
Participate in reducing overall exploration costs through effective management, and analyses while minimizing delay times.
Assist in the development and updates of geological models and in conjunction with Resource Unit, for input into Resource Models.
Participate in the review of exploration targets and rankings and development of staged evaluation programs.
Ensure data capture is subjected to rigorous quality control according to standard operating procedures.
Ensure continuous improvement processes with geologists to deliver improved quality of geological inputs.
Participate in structural and geological mapping and modelling of structures for surface and open pit mines.
Assist senior geologist and ensure geology staff are properly trained in all applicable SOPs and ensure these standards are maintained through field job observations.
Implement procedures that ensure timely and accurate collation of geological data.
Ensure Technical Reports are completed on schedule.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or other related disciplines from a recognized Tertiary Institution.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mining and/or exploration geology, including at least 2 years in grade control or production geology.
Ability to develop geological interpretations of the mineralization through the implementation and supervision of geological Mapping.
Demonstrated knowledge of field mapping and exploration Activities.
Solid knowledge of geology related QA/QC standards and methods.
Proficiency in geological and mining related software (Micromine, Leapfrog, Datamine, etc.).
Demonstrated leadership experience in a wide diversity of geology related projects.
