Interim Controller

Ascent CFO Solutions is looking for an Interim Controller to support a property management/real estate client on a part-time, interim basis (1099). This is a hands-on role for someone who's comfortable owning the accounting function day-to-day while the client is between permanent hires (or navigating a transition period).

• →Managing month-end close, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
• →Overseeing property-level accounting: CAM reconciliations, tenant billing, lease accounting, and owner/investor reporting
• →Reviewing and maintaining accurate books across multiple properties or entities
• →Partnering with property management teams on budget vs. actual reporting
• →Ensuring compliance with GAAP and any investor/lender reporting requirements
• →Supervising and supporting the accounting team

• 7+ years of accounting experience, with meaningful time in property/real estate accounting specifically (multifamily, commercial, or mixed-use experience all welcome)
• Experience with property management software (Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, or similar)
• Strong understanding of CAM reconciliations, lease accounting, and owner reporting
• Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities across a part-time schedule
• Prior experience in an interim, fractional, or consulting capacity is a plus, but not required

• 30 hours/week, with some flexibility on schedule
• Hybrid schedule - Cherry Creek office
• Immediate start, 4 week engagement with possibility to extend
