Permanent Full-Time | Red Deer Interfacility Transfer
Associated Ambulance is currently accepting expressions of interest from Alberta College of Paramedics (ACoP)-registered Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) for a Permanent Full-Time (PFT) opportunity with our Interfacility Transfer (IFT) team in Red Deer, Alberta.
Reporting to the Operations Manager and/or Regional Support Supervisor, the successful candidate will join a collaborative, patient-focused team providing high-quality interfacility transport services.
Internal Posting Process
In accordance with the Red Deer CUPE Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), this position will be posted internally to Red Deer CUPE members for three (3) days. If unfilled, it will be posted company-wide for an additional three (3) days. Following the sixth active day of posting, the position may be opened to external applicants.

- Shift hours: 08:00–18:30
Position Overview
IFT staff provide safe patient care and transportation for non-emergent patients during routine transfers between healthcare facilities.
Our IFT teams primarily transport admitted patients for additional testing or treatment, facilitate transfers between healthcare facilities, and, in some cases, return patients to their original location within Alberta Health Services Zones.
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing patient care and safe transportation within the EMR scope of practice.
- Completing and submitting required documentation, including patient care reports.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of vehicles, equipment, and ambulance bays.
- Ensuring transport units are fully stocked and operational.
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, emergency medical personnel, and other healthcare professionals to support high-quality patient care.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be capable of:
- Standing, walking, reaching, crouching, and bending for extended periods.
- Safely lifting and transporting patients and equipment.
- Providing patient care in physically awkward positions when required.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Emergency Medical Responder program.
- Up to date in all mandatory MCPS.
- Active EMR registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACoP).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- Valid Alberta Class 4 Operator’s License.
