At ATB, we exist to make it possible for our clients, team members and communities. Our purpose is more than aspirational. It's a real commitment we live every day through our values (what we call the ATB ID). Life at ATB is about more than work. In fact, we’re consistently recognized as one of Canada's top employers thanks to our high-care, high-performance culture, upheld by the three commitments we make to our team members: Impact in action: No matter where you are in the organization, you're empowered to make an impact in the lives of our clients and communities. Thrive together: We want you—the unique, authentic you—to feel safe and celebrated at work. We're on a continuous journey to build the most flexible and inclusive programs. Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development. ## About the Role As Senior Finance Systems Specialist, you bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution. You serve as the strategic steward of ATB’s financial ecosystem, ensuring that complex business operations are translated into high-integrity financial data. In this role, you act as a primary governing body for solutions impacting financial data, systems, and processes, ensuring that the enterprise remains architecturally sound and operationally seamless. You align business goals with technical decisions, specifically regarding the integration of new products and services into ATB’s subledger. You ensure financial systems consistently reflect business motivations, operational realities, and the analytical frameworks that link the enterprise together. You provide stewardship of the end-to-end financial data journey - from front-office origination to the final ledger and reporting systems. Your focus is on the long-term integrity, sustainability, and alignment of the financial technical landscape. Leveraging an expert-level mastery of ATB’s system landscape and transaction lifecycles, you proactively guide the evolution of accounting processes and the creation of critical financial information. You play a key role in educating and consulting with stakeholders, providing the technical context and information they need to perform high-value analysis. Lastly, you perform routine system health checks to identify potential issues before they escalate. When challenges arise, you collaborate with technical partners to identify root causes, implement resolutions, and design ways to mitigate future recurrence. ## Accountabilities * Strategic Data Governance: Apply standardized practices for financial data assessment, specifically ensuring data integrity is maintained when upstream system changes are made and to protect the "single source of truth" across all financial systems. * Architectural Change Leadership: Lead the implementation of new products and technologies by applying business architecture and change management strategies to maintain a scalable data landscape. * Integrity Guardianship: Protect the accuracy of financial data and the health of the reporting environment; and acts as the first point of contact for complex system issues within the financial landscape. * Systemic Problem Solving: Utilize advanced data analysis to investigate complex system data issues and provide expert guidance on architectural resolutions and long-term mitigation. ## Knowledge, Skills and Experience Distinctive Skill Requirements * Systems Thinking and Integrity: You possess the ability to see the "big picture" of a technical ecosystem while maintaining a meticulous eye for the granular details of a transaction lifecycle and financial data integrity. Technical Mastery: You bring deep experience managing complex financial data flows, including sophisticated knowledge of subledger and general ledger interactions (e.g., SAP BA and S/4HANA), SQL, and Google Cloud Platforms. * Architectural Stewardship: You apply architectural frameworks to ensure end-to-end data lineage - from source ingestion to the data lake - remains scalable, resilient, and aligned with financial standards. * Collaborative Problem Solving: You have a proven track record of partnering with business and IT teams to troubleshoot complex issues, diagnose root causes, and design long-term resolutions that prevent operational failures. * Strategic Influence: You excel at translating complex data concepts into actionable insights and educating non-technical stakeholders to influence decision-making without formal authority. Accreditations Requirements * Post-secondary degree in a related field (ex. Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems, etc.) * Accounting designation preferred * 5+ years accounting and finance experience in a complex financial accounting environment * SAP Experience considered an asset (ex. SAP Bank Analyzer, S4, TRBK) ## Workplace Arrangement You’ll work both remote and onsite, where time onsite is based on your job accountabilities and performance objectives. Don’t meet all the requirements on the list? A resume only goes so far in expressing who you are and the unique perspectives you bring. If you believe your skills and experience align with the role—but you might not check all the boxes—we want to hear from you. We encourage candidates from all work backgrounds, equity-seeking communities and experience levels to apply. If you’re seeking a career where your drive, perspective and growth are celebrated, we want to hear from you. We’re dedicated to building a workforce reflective of those within our communities, and a culture where our team members are equipped with what they need to succeed—their way. Part of creating an inclusive workplace is recognizing our role in advancing Truth and Reconciliation. We are committed to meeting and exceeding the standards set out in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations program created by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business.
