Atlas Advisors, LLC is seeking an Operational Cultural Advisor to support Security Assistance Group-Ukraine (SAG-U) mission requirements in the EUCOM theater. The Operational Cultural Advisor will provide cultural, operational, language, engagement coordination, and advisory support to senior military leadership and staff involved in Ukraine-related advise-and-assist efforts. This position is based at SAG-U Headquarters at Clay Kaserne in Wiesbaden, Germany, with required travel throughout Europe and potential forward support in Kyiv, Ukraine. This is a high-visibility OCONUS advisory role requiring mature judgment, Ukrainian language proficiency, operational credibility, and the ability to support senior leader engagement with Ukrainian Armed Forces and Government of Ukraine personnel. Key Responsibilities Provide operational and cultural advisory support to SAG-U leadership and staff in support of Ukraine-related advise-and-assist efforts. Support planning, coordination, and execution of engagements with Ukrainian Armed Forces and Government of Ukraine personnel. Schedule meetings, engagements, discussions, and coordination activities with Ukrainian counterparts as directed by the Government Site Lead or designated mission leadership. Assist with logistics coordination for official engagements, including invitation letters, emails, phone calls, meeting locations, agendas, and coordination summaries. Provide recommended feasibility reviews of SAG-U-authored options, plans, and overall strategy related to advise-and-assist efforts. Assist SAG-U staff in identifying problems, friction points, risks, and operational considerations affecting planning and mission execution. Provide Ukrainian-English and English-Ukrainian interpretation during conversations, meetings, and interactions with Ukrainian personnel as directed. Translate documents provided by Ukrainian personnel into English and translate English-language materials into Ukrainian as required. Maintain consolidated contact lists of Ukrainian Armed Forces and Government of Ukraine personnel interacted with during official engagements, using Government-approved systems. Prepare after-action reports, observation summaries, written memoranda, presentations, desk-side briefings, information papers, and other written products as directed. Provide reporting and analysis related to interactions and exchanges with Ukrainian partners, including observations related to Russian ground, air, drone, and other operational tactics, techniques, and procedures. Provide cultural advice during key leader engagements with Ukrainian personnel and senior leadership. Support mission requirements across SAG-U work locations in Germany, Poland, Ukraine, and other locations as required. Support overtime, surge requirements, and short-notice travel based on mission/customer requirements. Qualifications Required Qualifications Active TS/SCI clearance. Bachelor's degree from a U.S.-accredited college or university with a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience. Minimum of 8 years of experience working for the U.S. Armed Forces and experience in a deployed combat environment, or equivalent experience. Experience working for or with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Government of Ukraine, or a Ukrainian academic or government institution. Professional Ukrainian language proficiency equivalent to DLPT 3+/3+/3+ or higher. Ability to provide recent Ukrainian language test scores or complete a Ukrainian language assessment/check as part of the screening process. Comprehensive understanding of U.S. Joint military organizational structure, including air, land, and maritime forces. Strong understanding of military equipment, military operations, unit operations, orders, and military planning principles. Understanding of Russian tactics and strategy, Russian drone warfare, Russian collection capabilities, Ukrainian Armed Forces strategy and tactics, unmanned systems operations, Ukrainian logistics, and Ukrainian medical capabilities. Understanding of U.S., NATO, and partner-nation equipment and arms provided to Ukraine and currently or potentially employed by Ukrainian forces. Ability to work overtime as required to meet mission objectives. Ability to travel anywhere in Europe within 8 hours' notice and worldwide within 48 hours' notice. Must certify that the candidate has not been subject to adverse contractual, disciplinary, or administrative action by the U.S. Government within the past three years. Must not be at risk under Ukrainian mobilization law. Preferred Qualifications Foreign Area Officer experience. Embassy, defense attache, security cooperation, or other diplomatic/military engagement experience. Russian language proficiency equivalent to DLPT 3/3/3 or higher. Prior experience supporting senior military leadership, commander's action groups, joint staffs, operational planning teams, or deployed advisory missions. Prior experience in Ukraine, Eastern Europe, EUCOM, NATO, or related operational environments. Experience supporting key leader engagements, partner force coordination, security assistance, or advise-and-assist missions. Overseas Assignment and Travel This is a SOFA-supported overseas assignment based in Wiesbaden, Germany. This position requires frequent and potentially short-notice travel throughout Europe and may require forward travel to Ukraine. The selected candidate must be prepared to operate in a demanding OCONUS environment and support mission requirements across multiple locations. This position may be eligible for overseas logistical support and allowances, including: Family-accompanied overseas assignment, subject to contract and mission requirements. Relocation assistance for employee and eligible dependents. Household goods shipment. Privately owned vehicle shipment. Temporary quarters support. Housing allowance. Post allowance / cost-of-living allowance. Education allowance for eligible dependents. Authorized logistical privileges. Work Environment Full-time, on-site position based in Wiesbaden, Germany. Work will be performed in a classified and operationally sensitive environment. Must be able to support time-sensitive mission requirements, senior-leader engagements, and mission-driven priorities. Requires frequent travel within Europe and potential travel to Ukraine. May require support outside normal duty hours based on operational requirements. Must be able to operate professionally in senior headquarters, deployed, multinational, and partner-force engagement environments.
