As a Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have experience in repairing and maintaining a wide variety of vehicles or machinery, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Diagnose mechanical issues and identify root causes of vehicle or machinery
- →Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, machinery, and equipment, including engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- →Conduct thorough inspections of machines and vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and are operating
- →Replace worn or damaged parts, such as belts, filters, batteries, and spark
- →Use a variety of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and machinery to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
- →Document all maintenance and repair work, including parts used, labor hours, and recommendations for future
- →Collaborate with the shop team and other departments to meet deadlines and ensure all vehicles or machinery are operational and ready for use.
- →Stay up to date on industry trends, new repair techniques, and equipment to continuously improve knowledge and skills.
- →Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and
- →Follow all safety procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to company safety standards.
- →Provide estimates for repair costs and time frames when needed, and communicate effectively with supervisors or customers regarding repair status.
Requirements

- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and machinery used in the repair
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently and
- Good communication skills, with the ability to discuss issues and repairs with customers, supervisors, or team
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks
- Valid driver’s license (if required for test-driving vehicles or transporting equipment).
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in automotive repair, diesel mechanics, or a related field is a
