Job Summary

As a physical therapist, you will diagnose and treat patients who have health conditions that limit their ability to move and perform everyday activities. You will not only help restore their physical function and mobility, but you will also work to promote overall wellness and boost a patient’s quality of life.  During the treatment process, you’ll work directly with the patient to teach them different functional tasks and exercises intended to strengthen or stretch muscles as well as alleviate pain. Currently, this position is per diem.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy
  • Philadelphia Physical Therapy (PT) license and CPR Certification
  • Strong Clinical & Interpersonal Skills
  • Excellent Written & Oral Communication Skills
  • Strong ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility to change care plans if the patient is not getting the best results.
  • Superior organizational skills to manage several different cases at once.
  • Computer literacy to maintain and manage case records.
  • Compassionate and attentive to detail.
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices.


Responsibilities


  • Reviewing patients’ medical histories
  • Diagnosing patients by observing their movements and listening to their concerns 
  • Developing individualized care plans for patients 
  • Outlining clear goals for patients and the expected outcomes of the plan
  • Using exercises, stretching, equipment, and hands-on therapy to manage patients’ pain, increase mobility, and prevent further pain and injury. 
  • Recording patients’ progress and modifying the plan of care if needed 
  • Educating patients and family members about the recovery process 
  • Administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility.
  • Advising patients on exercise techniques.
  • Advising patients and their families about in-home treatment options.
  • Providing educational information about injury prevention, ergonomics, and ways to promote physical health.
  • Consulting and collaborating with other healthcare professionals within the agency.
  • Documenting patient care history.
  • Complying with rules, regulations, and procedures of the agency.


Salary 

  • The pay for this position ranges from $65-$75 per hour. Pay rates are determined based on experience, distance, and/or availability.


Visits: Visits can be completed mornings, afternoons, evenings, and nights

Please note that this is a 100% per diem position. Entry-level experience welcomed.
