Position: Event Manager (Full-Time + Benefits)
Type: Full-time (non-exempt), expected to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

You will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing a variety of events, from sporting events and concerts to festivals and fairs. Your expertise will ensure smooth operations, exceptional client services, and successful event outcomes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate events by maintaining close contact with clients and staff, ensuring a high service level.
- Guide clients in event preparation by interpreting contract provisions, policies, and procedures.
- Keep clients informed about deadline schedules, including floor plan submissions, meeting room setups, insurance requirements, and other relevant details.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of detailed requirements to operational departments.
- Maintain event-related reports, information, and files.
- Maintain a positive public image and generate positive public relations with patrons and staff.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with industry partners, emergency personnel, and government agencies.
- Handle complaints, disturbances, or related problems with the public, staff, or clients.
- Investigate, report, and follow up on incidents, including damage or injury to the facility or individuals.
- Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Collaborate with other @the Grounds departments to provide exceptional guest and client services.
- Adhere to all @the Grounds security, policy, and procedures to ensure safety.
- The position requires step climbing, and walking, working indoors and outdoors, often in extreme temperatures for long periods.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of industry terminology, facility capabilities, operational procedures, event coordination, event-related services, and food and beverage operations.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to handle conflicts and take appropriate action during high-tension and stressful situations.
- Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered during employment.
- Possess any appropriate licenses as required by the state.
- Experience using Windows, Word, Excel, and other standard office software and equipment.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
Education/Experience:
- A degree from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred.
- Experience in the event or hospitality profession is required.
