The Assistant Crew Chief is a developmental position that assists the survey Crew Chief by conducting field activities under direct supervision.
- Operates and maintains a variety of survey equipment safely and efficiently.
- Stock and help maintain a clean vehicle.
- Assist in prompt start to survey activities at project site by assembling and setting up necessary equipment.
- Perform survey activities such as: leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, construction layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, profile, and cross section surveys.
- Record field notes legibly and accurately while following the Atwell established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Requirements
~1 min read- A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
- A valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle is required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Survey Field Technician
- Basic plan and map reading (i.e., construction/engineering plans, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, plats, etc.)
- Typical survey equipment including robotic total stations, GPS systems, data collectors, UAV’s, etc. Experience with Trimble brand preferred.
- Proficiency in conducting UAV surveys and processing point cloud data is preferred. Knowledge of drones such as the DJI Matrice 350 RTI, Phantom 4 RTI and Wingra with LiDAR and photogrammetry payloads is desirable.
