The Mobile Clinic RV Operator is responsible for the safe operation, transportation, setup, and support of a RV mobile unit serving patients throughout the community. This position plays a vital role in expanding access to healthcare services and supporting Augusta Health’s mission to strengthen the health and well-being of all people in our communities. The Mobile Clinic RV Operator ensures the mobile clinic is safely driven to scheduled locations, properly positioned and maintained, and ready for clinical operations. The Mobile Clinic RV Operator works closely with clinical staff to support community outreach initiatives while maintaining compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations. In addition, this role will perform additional non-driving duties as assigned in such areas as communication, reception, clerical, and clinic operational support, while serving as the liaison between the patient, other staff, and the provider.  The Mobile Clinic RV Operator initiates implementation of processes and/or has access to all operational components of the clinic as required by daily operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s license required
  • EVOC- Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification preferred
  • CPR preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional driving experience, preferably operating large vehicles, RVs, buses, delivery trucks, or specialty vehicles required
  • Experience working in healthcare, community outreach, public safety, or customer service environments preferred
  • Experience in performing clerical duties preferred
  • Coding experience preferred
  • Safely operate and transport the RV unit or clinic van to scheduled community locations.
  • Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and routine RV/vehicle inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
  • Perform basic RV/vehicle maintenance checks, including fluid levels, tire pressure, fuel, generator operation, and safety equipment inspections.
  • Set up and break down the RV mobile clinic at service locations, including leveling, power connections, awnings, steps, and accessibility equipment.
  • Coordinate travel routes and schedules to ensure timely arrival at service locations.
  • Maintain accurate RV/vehicle logs, mileage records, inspection reports, fuel usage records, and maintenance documentation.
  • Report RV/vehicle issues, accidents, incidents, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Provide courteous interaction with patients, community partners, and healthcare staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of the vehicle interior and exterior, to include disposal of RV waste
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, safety procedures, HIPAA requirements, and applicable motor vehicle regulations.
  • Performs basic support functions to ensure efficient operation of the area such as:
    • answering phones, directing calls and taking messages
    • copying, scanning faxing and/or emailing documentation
    • ordering and/or restocking supplies and forms as needed
    • preparing, receiving, sorting, and distributing mail and other delivered items to providers and staff w/ any certified mail requirements.
    • maintaining office equipment as needed ensuring any issues with office equipment utilized are identified and addressed w/ knowledge of repair process.
  • Gathering and entering a variety of patient and/or staff information by pulling, preparing, logging and/or filing patient information; maintaining departmental records and files as directed
  • Participate in maintaining front end operational flow of the practice in daily work.
  • Assesses data reflective of the patient status and interprets the information needed to identify each patient’s requirement relative to his/her age specific needs as they relate to the staff position.
    • Ensures no breaches in confidentiality.
    • Observed to call patient by correct name.
    • Maintains patient privacy.
  • Demonstrates skill in interpersonal relationships.
  • Appropriately answers questions and provides information and assistance.
  • Appropriately handles inquiries and takes command of the situation to direct the course of events.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal development, identification of developmental needs. and initiates or identifies activities for formally developing skills.
  • Produces accurate work for check in and check out processes of the patient visit.
  • Completes patient scheduling process accurately
  • Provides care according to the age of the patients served using knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the patient’s life span.
  • Communicates well with all age groups.
  • Observes process outcomes, identifies problems, and recommends alternative solutions.
  • Participates in educational and training programs as presented.
  • Timely, efficiently and accurately participates in oral and written communication with patients and staff.
  • Willingly and efficiently participates in performing clerical duties as assigned.
