Avalara is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team, with a primary focus on business partnering with newly acquired companies as part of our M&A integration efforts. Reporting to the FP&A Director, Strategy & Planning, you will help newly acquired businesses assimilate into our financial reporting rhythm. In this Individual Contributor position you will maintain thoughtfulness and consistency across the broader FP&A function. You will support corporate reporting and cash flow forecasting. This is a remote position in the United States.

#LI-Remote

  • You will be the primary FP&A contact for newly acquired companies, building trust with local finance and operational leaders to translate their historical financials, KPIs, and reporting practices into the corporate framework

  • Support the onboarding of acquired entities into corporate planning, budgeting, and reporting systems, helping standardize the chart of accounts, reporting templates, and financial definitions

  • Identify cooperation opportunities and integration risks, and help prepare monthly financial reviews and variance analyses for acquired companies

  • Integrate new entities to ensure data integrity across systems as you prepare consolidated corporate reporting packages for leadership, the board, and lenders.

  • Help build consolidated cash flow forecasts, partnering with treasury and accounting to monitor actuals against forecast and support scenario and sensitivity analysis

  • Implement improvements to financial processes and reporting automation to accommodate a growing, multi-entity organization

Supporting diversity and inclusion is a cornerstone of our company — we don’t want people to fit into our culture, but to enrich it. All qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, age, gender, national orientation, disability, sexual orientation, US Veteran status, or any other factor protected by law. If you require any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know.

  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, transaction services, investment banking or consulting

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field

  • You have experience with financial modeling

  • Excel proficiency with the ability to build driver-based models

  • Experience working with ambiguous or incomplete data from newly acquired businesses and building structure around it

  • A continuous improvement and AI bar-raising mindset, with an approach to identifying ways to improve integration, reporting, and forecasting processes through automation and latest technologies

  • Experience working with or supporting M&A due diligence, integration, or post-merger reporting

  • Experience with FP&A planning tools (e.g., Adaptive, Pigment, Anaplan)
