~2 min readAvalara is looking for a Senior Boomi Integration Engineer to design and deliver secure, scalable, and reliable integrations across our enterprise application ecosystem. In this senior individual contributor role, you will support critical workflows across order-to-cash, customer data, product, finance, and operations. You will partner with business stakeholders, enterprise systems teams, and engineering partners to turn business needs into well-governed technical solutions. You will also coach junior developers, improve engineering standards, and help strengthen how integrations are designed, delivered, supported, and modernised across Avalara.. Location - India-Remote. You will report to Manager, Enterprise Systems.
- →Design, build, test, deploy, and support enterprise integrations using Boomi.
- →Architect Boomi processes, application programming interfaces, automations, connectors, transformations, and error-handling patterns across platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Snowflake, and other enterprise systems.
- →Translate business requirements into integration designs, technical specifications, delivery plans, and reusable patterns.
- →Develop and support secure application programming interfaces, including Representational State Transfer, Simple Object Access Protocol, Open Data Protocol, webhooks, and event-driven patterns.
- →Modernise legacy Boomi processes by reducing technical debt, improving observability, simplifying designs, and strengthening recovery mechanisms.
- →Mentor junior developers working during India Standard Time hours through design guidance, code review, troubleshooting, and delivery oversight.
- →Define standards for source control, deployment, testing, peer review, logging, monitoring, and documentation.
- →Track operational measures such as service levels, recovery time, incident frequency, throughput, failure rates, and deployment quality.
- Identify practical AI-enabled automation opportunities using tools such as n8n, Glean, Boomi Agent Studio, large language models, and agent-based workflows.
- Use AI-assisted tools to improve productivity, documentation, diagnostics, testing, root-cause analysis, and solution design.
- Promote responsible AI use with attention to governance, security, privacy, auditability, and business risk.
- 7+ years of experience in software development, enterprise integration, workflow automation, or platform engineering.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting integrations using Boomi or a comparable platform.
- Experience with enterprise systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Snowflake, Workday, finance systems, or comparable software-as-a-service platforms.
- Strong understanding of application programming interface design, security, authentication, authorisation, Structured Query Language, relational data models, source control, testing, and release practices.
- Experience in leading technical design discussions, mentor developers, improve standards, solve complex integration issues, and apply AI tools responsibly.
