Responsibilities

The Accountant II is responsible for providing senior level financial support. This role will serve as a subject matter expert in a specialized area, which includes preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, and other accounting duties as assigned. The Accountant II solves complex accounting and finance problems and escalates concerns to senior leaders as needed.

  • Maintain the fixed assets in the accounting system
  • Complete daily reconciliation of bank accounts and analysis of ledger categories
  • Assist with the training of newly hired Accountants on the team
  • Manage credit card and expense management systems
  • Reconcile credit card statements and analysis of ledger categories
  • Prepare and submit sales tax reports on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Maintain access for new and terminated employees in various systems
  • Serve as an accounting resource for employees and interprets accounting policies and regulations
  • Communicate and reach out to vendors to solve complex problems and escalate to senior leadership appropriately
  • Keep up to date and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as policies, and procedures
  • Able to pull and manipulate data for various ad hoc reports and other analysis as needed
  • Prepare, review, and analyze a variety of reports, accounts, reconciliations, tables, or statements to and from internal departments, financial institutions, and external agencies

This is a full-time position. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional time outside of these hours may be needed to complete the essential functions of the job.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 4 years required related experience in accounting and finance
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask multiple priorities simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Office, Adobe), HRIS systems, and other databases

 

  • Technical Skills: Intermediate ability to perform technical skills required for job role. This may include the use of specific technology, knowledge of job-specific tasks and concepts, etc. Intermediate ability to supervise project workflows for the team.  Advanced ability to handle routine tasks and non-routine tasks; and handle tasks with high level of complexity with limited guidance. 
  •  Communicates Effectively: Advanced ability to communicate and network with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Advanced skills in active listening and adjusting articulation and body language for presentations. Advanced ability to provide clear and concisely written, verbal and nonverbal communication.

Requirements

  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification and ability to obtain and maintain

 

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting for long periods at a time
  • Regularly required to talk or hear
  • Occasional lifting of office supplies up to 20 lbs.
  • Vision abilities including close vision and ability to adjust focus

  • Must understand and follow a set of clear oral and/or written procedures without deviation

  • Withstand moderate amounts of stress
  • Must adhere to a provided work schedule to meet a set of qualitative production standards

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.
  • This role routinely operates standard office equipment.
