A newly established AI function is at the center of this transformation. Operating as a startup within the enterprise, this team is focused on delivering real-world AI solutions at scale. This role is highly visible and works closely with leadership to shape how AI is adopted, implemented, and scaled across the organization.

• Design and build AI infrastructure including models, pipelines, and integrations
• Develop and deploy LLM-powered applications and RAG-based solutions
• Integrate AI into enterprise systems, APIs, and digital platforms
• Build scalable backend services connecting AI models to real-world workflows
• Identify and implement new AI use cases across the business

• Partner with business and engineering teams to drive AI adoption
• Coach both technical and non-technical stakeholders on AI capabilities
• Standardize and optimize AI workflows across teams
• Act as a trusted AI advisor to leadership and product teams
• Help scale AI usage across the organization through education and frameworks

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong full-stack or backend engineering background
• 1–3+ years hands-on experience with AI / LLM / Generative AI
• Proven experience shipping at least one AI solution to production
• Experience building RAG pipelines, LLM workflows, or AI-driven applications
• Strong experience with APIs, backend systems, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain, Hugging Face, or LlamaIndex
• Ability to integrate AI into real-world business workflows
• Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and business teams
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain AI concepts clearly
• Experience mentoring or enabling teams on AI adoption is highly preferred
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to operate in fast-moving environments

• Experience building agentic AI workflows or multi-agent systems
• Background in enterprise AI enablement or AI Centers of Excellence
• Experience integrating AI into existing enterprise platforms
• Exposure to regulated industries (finance, insurance, etc.)
• Public AI work (GitHub, blogs, speaking, etc.)

• Hybrid – Durham, NC (3–4 days onsite preferred)
