This group is being built to move quickly, partner closely with the business, and create practical technology solutions that deliver near-term value. The team will focus on MVPs, proof-of-concept applications, AI-enabled tools, and scalable technical foundations that can later be expanded by enterprise delivery teams. This is a highly collaborative environment where developers will work closely with business partners, architecture leaders, and application development teams to test ideas, prove value, and help shape how emerging technology is adopted across the organization.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity designed for a senior engineer who wants to help build a new innovation function from the ground up. The role offers the chance to work on high-visibility initiatives, use AI in practical and creative ways, and contribute to solutions that can influence broader enterprise technology direction. The position is based onsite four days per week in Charlotte, NC, and is intended for candidates who are interested in long-term conversion to full-time employment. Engagement is W2 only with no C2C, 1099, subcontractor, sponsorship, or student visa arrangements.
- Build rapid MVPs, proof-of-concept applications, and early-stage solution frameworks that prove technical feasibility and business value.
- Partner directly with business stakeholders to understand opportunities, clarify problems, and turn ideas into working technology.
- Develop backend services, APIs, business logic, integrations, and data-driven application components.
- Create scalable application skeletons that can be handed off to enterprise delivery teams for full product buildout.
- Use AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to accelerate development, improve productivity, and explore new ways of building software.
- Incorporate AI into solution concepts, including intelligent workflows, recommendations, chatbots, RAG-style patterns, or other AI-enabled capabilities.
- Work across full stack technologies including C#, .NET, Blazor, Angular, Node.js, Python, Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, APIs, and related development tools.
- Collaborate closely with architecture and development leaders to evaluate technology choices and establish reusable patterns.
- Participate in Agile-style collaboration while operating in a faster, more experimental, business-connected innovation model.
- Troubleshoot technical problems, validate concepts, document patterns, and help define how successful prototypes can scale.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong full stack development background with heavier emphasis on backend, APIs, integrations, and business logic.
- Hands-on experience with C#, .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, and API development.
- Experience with Microsoft-based development environments; Blazor experience is a strong plus.
- Ability to work with modern front-end or full stack frameworks such as Angular, Blazor, Node.js, or similar technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and relational data concepts; Snowflake experience is a plus.
- Demonstrable use of AI in software development, such as GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Curiosity and hands-on experimentation with AI-enabled solutions, such as chatbots, RAG implementations, recommendation tools, or automation workflows.
- Ability to learn new tools quickly, choose the right technology for the job, and adapt across languages or frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving ability, communication skills, and collaborative working style.
- Comfortable working directly with business stakeholders, architecture teams, and technical delivery groups.
- Ability to work onsite in Charlotte, NC four days per week.
- Must be authorized to work without sponsorship or student visa.
