- Lead site/civil design efforts across a broad portfolio of development projects from concept through completion.
- Oversee site layout, grading, stormwater/drainage, infrastructure, erosion control, and sediment control design.
- Prepare and review stormwater management reports, hydraulic and hydrology analyses, SWPPP documentation, civil plans, and technical reports.
- Manage site/civil workflow while coordinating with clients, internal project teams, contractors, agencies, and permitting/entitlement partners.
- Ensure applicable site-related permits, as-builts, and platting requirements are completed through project closeout.
- Mentor civil designers and interns while supporting team development and technical quality.
- Perform QA/QC reviews on civil drawings and reports to maintain accuracy, compliance, and design quality.
- Build and maintain client relationships while representing the firm professionally in project, community, and industry settings.
- Support project profitability through strong time management, team coordination, and organizational discipline.
- Participate in professional associations and community service activities as part of the firm’s broader community-focused culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required, or a bachelor’s degree in another engineering discipline with strong, tenured civil engineering experience.
- 6+ years of site/civil engineering experience across varied project types.
- Professional Engineering license in North Carolina or South Carolina required.
- Strong experience with site layout, grading, stormwater/drainage design, infrastructure design, erosion control, and sediment control.
- Proficiency with Civil 3D required.
- Experience with stormwater software programs required.
- Strong ability to prepare stormwater design documentation and technical reports.
- Working knowledge of local and state agency requirements related to civil/site development.
- Proven ability to manage projects, lead workflows, mentor junior team members, and maintain client relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of making sound design decisions.
