Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Data-Focused Backend Engineer who is ready to transition into a Data Engineering role. You will sit at the intersection of product engineering and data architecture, owning our data layer end-to-end.

This isn't a "back-office" analytics role where you just build dashboards. This is 70% Data Engineering (modeling, pipelining, enrichment) and 30% Backend Engineering (integrations, API design, and surfacing data to the product). You’ll work directly with the founding team to ensure that the data you process today becomes a product feature tomorrow.

• Integrate external data sources: LinkedIn scrapers, email finders, Google scrapers, and commercial data vendors

• Build and maintain DBT models on top of ClickHouse

• Design and run enrichment and classification pipelines - for example, classifying company names as exporters, logistics providers, warehouses, or private persons

• Identify gaps in our data coverage and propose what to collect, buy, or build

• Collaborate with the engineering team to surface data improvements as product features

• The Foundation: 3–6 years of solid Backend Engineering experience with a strong desire to specialize in Data Engineering.

• SQL Mastery: Expert-level SQL skills. You should be comfortable with ClickHouse or other columnar databases (BigQuery, Snowflake, PostgreSQL).

• Code Proficiency: Strong Python skills for script writing, data wrangling, and API integrations.

• Modern Tooling: Comfortable using AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate development.

• Product-Minded: You care about why the data matters to the user, not just if the pipeline finished running.

• Ownership: You are comfortable working independently without a massive data team to lean on.

• DBT Experience: Prior experience writing and testing DBT models in a production environment.

• Data Scraping: Experience with web scraping pipelines or complex third-party API integrations.

• Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with freight, logistics, or B2B data.

• Data Enrichment: Experience enriching or classifying messy real-world entity data (company names, addresses, industry codes)

• Location: In-person in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

• Working Hours: Mon–Thu 09:00–18:00, Fri 10:00–15:00 (Early finish Fridays!).
