Facilitator: Kleinbosch

Babylonstoren is looking for an enthusiastic and capable facilitator to join the Kleinbosch Centre, situated on the historic farm that housed the first official Afrikaans school.

The ideal candidate is passionate about educating and inspiring young people, has excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and is eager to contribute to the development of an exceptional learning institution. This role combines practical facilitation, learner support and programme coordination, with a strong interest in artificial intelligence and its applications.

• A relevant qualification in education or engineering, with an engineering qualification preferred.
• Experience as a teacher or facilitator, or in a student residence environment.
• Experience working with young people through teaching, mentorship or youth leadership.
• Experience teaching life skills, such as communication and conflict resolution, would be advantageous.
• A strong interest in artificial intelligence and a willingness to stay informed about developments in the field.
• The ability to respond calmly, fairly and confidently to emergencies, conflict and challenging behaviour.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
• The ability to communicate effectively with learners, parents and staff.
• Confidence in leading and supervising groups of learners.
• Respect for and understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds.
• An engaging, approachable and encouraging personality.
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing responsibilities.

• →Conduct ongoing research and develop an in-depth understanding of artificial intelligence and its practical applications.
• →Oversee learners’ daily routines and schedules, including wake-up times, mealtimes, activities and bedtimes.
• →Monitor learners’ physical wellbeing and arrange appropriate medical assistance when required.
• →Maintain high standards of learner care, programme delivery and organisation.
• →Coordinate course schedules, activities and assessments, ensuring that programmes run smoothly.
• →Deliver interactive, practical sessions that encourage participation and active learning.
• →Guide learners in recognising their leadership styles and identifying areas for life skills development.
• →Facilitate group activities, discussions and role-play exercises that help learners apply their skills to real-life situations.
• →Create a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment in which learners feel encouraged to participate and grow.
• →Assist with the planning and implementation of holiday programmes and academic excellence courses.
