The Finance Transformation & Business Manager is a senior strategic role within the Finance function, acting as a trusted partner to the CFO and Finance Leadership Team.
The role is responsible for supporting the effective operation of the Finance function, leading and coordinating the Finance transformation agenda, and delivering high-impact strategic initiatives that enhance the effectiveness, scalability and commercial impact of Finance.
Operating across all areas of Finance, the individual will combine strategic thinking, programme leadership and operational management to ensure Finance continues to evolve in line with the firm's growth ambitions, technology investments and changing business needs.
The role does not have direct line management responsibility but requires significant influence across senior stakeholders, Finance teams and the wider business.
Responsibilities
~1 min readSupport the CFO and Finance Leadership Team in the effective leadership and management of the Finance function.
- Lead on coordinating priorities, communication and initiatives across the Finance Leadership Team. Acting as a central point of co-ordination for initiatives.
- Support development and execution of the Finance strategy and annual operating plan.
- Develop Finance functional key performance indicators and reporting of them.
- Identify risks, dependencies and delivery challenges and support mitigation plans.
- Lead the planning and coordination of Finance leadership meetings, strategy sessions and offsites.
- Prepare executive presentations, papers, business cases and decision-making materials.
- Support resource planning, budgeting and investment prioritisation across Finance.
Lead the ongoing evolution and transformation of the Finance function.
- Maintain and drive delivery of the Finance transformation roadmap.
- Support optimisation and benefits realisation activities from Dynamics 365 and future technology investments.
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI and digital technologies across Finance processes.
- Lead process improvement and simplification initiatives that improve efficiency and user experience.
- Support the development of Finance operating models that enable growth and scalability.
- Develop transformation business cases and investment proposals.
- Track transformation benefits and provide regular reporting to the Finance Leadership Team.
- Act as a change leader, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and adoption.
Lead strategic projects sponsored by the CFO and Finance Leadership Team.
- Define project scope, objectives and delivery plans.
- Lead complex cross-functional initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Conduct strategic analysis and problem-solving to support key decisions.
- Build business cases and evaluate commercial and operational outcomes.
- Coordinate stakeholders across Finance, Business Enablement teams and business leadership.
- Monitor delivery progress and manage risks, issues and dependencies.
Requirements
~1 min read- You will have significant experience in Finance transformation, business management, strategy or programme delivery.
- Experience operating in a complex professional services, consulting or corporate environment.
- Proven track record of leading strategic programmes and delivering measurable business outcomes.
- Experience working with senior executive stakeholders.
- Experience developing business cases and supporting strategic decision-making.
- Strong understanding of Finance processes, operating models and performance management.
- You may have a Finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent but this isn't essential.
- Experience of ERP transformation programmes, Dynamics 365 or similar enterprise platforms is an additional benefit but not essential.
