Systems Administrator / Technical Support

Barron Lighting Group is seeking a Systems Administrator / Technical Support professional to provide dependable day-to-day IT support while assisting in the administration and maintenance of the company’s core infrastructure, cloud systems, and business applications. This role is responsible for delivering Tier 1–2 technical support, managing user accounts and system access, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and supporting the overall stability, security, and performance of company technology systems.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong communication skills, a customer-service mindset, and foundational experience supporting cloud-based environments. This individual will work closely with employees across multiple departments while contributing to IT improvements, documentation, onboarding/offboarding processes, and operational efficiency initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1–2 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, conferencing systems, and business applications.
  • Respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and user access issues.
  • Assist employees with Google Workspace applications including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Meet.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities including account setup, permissions, equipment deployment, and system access management.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and documentation.
  • Assist in administering and supporting cloud infrastructure and business systems including Google Workspace and AWS resources.
  • Create, modify, and manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and access controls.
  • Monitor system performance, security alerts, backups, and endpoint health.
  • Support software deployments, updates, patches, and system upgrades.
  • Help maintain IT documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Assist with network troubleshooting and basic infrastructure support.
  • Follow company IT security standards and best practices.
  • Assist with endpoint protection, MFA enforcement, password policies, and access reviews.
  • Support data protection and backup procedures.
  • Help identify and escalate security concerns or vulnerabilities.
  • Work closely with internal departments to understand technical needs and improve user experience.
  • Participate in IT projects, process improvements, and technology initiatives.
  • Recommend improvements to workflows, systems, and support processes.
  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when assisting employees.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or help desk environments.
  • Experience supporting Google Workspace environments.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Understanding of Windows operating systems, endpoint management, and basic networking concepts.
  • Experience with user account administration, permissions, and access management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, endpoint management tools, or ticketing systems.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and endpoint security tools.
  • Exposure to scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell or Bash.
  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Google Workspace, or AWS certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
  • Primarily office and manufacturing environment
