The Quality Records Management Specialist will support the space program located in Huntsville, Alabama, specifically supporting the MSFC SMAS II Contract.


The Quality Records Management Specialist will perform records and information management activities related to records creation, maintenance, use, storage, retrieval, and disposition. This position will help ensure the adequate and proper documentation of Federal Government policies, activities, and transactions while supporting the effective, efficient, and economical management of agency records.


The specialist will work closely with quality, engineering, program, and administrative personnel to ensure records are properly organized, maintained, accessible, and managed in accordance with applicable government requirements, contract requirements, and established records management procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Support the overall maintenance, organization, management, retention, and disposition of Program Quality Records in accordance with NASA, contract, and established records management requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day support to the NASA Quality Records Center (QRC) Manager, including records tracking, coordination, retrieval, and documentation activities.
  • Review and maintain quality records to ensure completeness, accuracy, proper organization, accessibility, and compliance with applicable procedures and requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and report metrics and performance data to monitor records management activities, identify trends, and support continuous improvement.
  • Support audits, assessments, reporting, and other quality records management activities while coordinating with program personnel to resolve records-related issues and ensure effective program support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
  • Must have a High School or equivalent.
  • Must have 3+ years of recent and related work experience.
  • Possess or be able to obtain working knowledge of applicable Records and Information Management (RIM) system used at MSFC.
  • Ability to enter and manipulate data in a wide variety of forms, schedules, and reports to reflect changes in the status of work in progress.
  • Ability to organize and analyze data and write technical reports, procedures, plans and user manuals.
  • Skill in identifying, categorizing, and analyzing quantitative data.

  • Detailed and specific knowledge of the work processes, procedures, design, and functions of the various S&MA information systems and databases.
  • Knowledge of programming techniques and NASA/MSFC computer equipment and systems software sufficient to develop and maintain applications programs for use within S&MA.
  • Knowledge of ADP standards, policies and techniques approved for use at MSFC. Integrated Product Team Experience
  • Possess or be able to obtain a compulsory working knowledge of AS9100/ISO9000 Quality Management System requirements.

  • This position is located onsite; some travel may be required.
  • Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.
  • This position will require periodic shift work and (paid) overtime.

  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

  • Must be organized with good time management skills and must be able to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
  • Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
  • Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
