We are hiring a Software Engineer - UI at BCBST!

In this role, you will play a key part in transforming critical internal claims applications into modern browser-based applications. You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Vue.js 3+, TypeScript, and modern front-end technologies while partnering closely with business analysts, product owners, technical leads, and backend developers. This position offers the opportunity to serve as the front-end subject matter expert for the team, driving UI modernization efforts, establishing development best practices, mentoring other developers, and helping shape the future architecture of internal applications that support core business operations. You will build scalable, reusable components, integrate with RESTful APIs, implement secure authentication solutions, and leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.

To be successful in this role, in addition to the core job requirements, you'll bring strong front-end engineering expertise, a passion for modern web development, and the ability to lead UI modernization initiatives. You will be a strong candidate for this role if you have hands-on experience with Vue.js 3+, TypeScript, Single Page Applications (SPAs), PrimeVue or similar enterprise UI frameworks, REST API integrations, and OAuth/OpenID Connect authentication. Experience with Tailwind CSS, component library design, state management frameworks such as Pinia, Agile development practices, automated testing, and integrating front-end applications with enterprise backend services will help you excel in this role. Candidates who enjoy modernizing legacy applications, mentoring teammates, and driving technical best practices will be especially successful.
