Some people manage a shop.

Others build one.

At Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA), we're looking for a Maintenance Manager who wants to do more than keep the lights on. We're searching for a leader who is ready to build a high-performing team, improve processes, embrace technology, and help shape the future of one of Ohio's fastest-growing public transit agencies.

Last year, BCRTA provided more than 820,000 passenger trips, and we're just getting started. As we continue expanding service, investing in new vehicles, and modernizing our operations, we need a maintenance leader who is energized by growth and excited to leave their mark.

If you're ready to step into a role with real ownership, real influence, and real opportunity, we'd love to meet you.

  • Lead a talented team of technicians and support staff

  • Help shape the future of a growing transit system

  • Modern fleet with scheduled vehicle replacement

  • Invest in technology that makes maintenance smarter—not harder

  • Competitive salary

  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and short-term disability

  • Generous Paid Time Off

  • Professional development and leadership training

  • Collaborative leadership team that values innovation and continuous improvement

  • This isn't a desk job.

    It's a leadership role with hands-on impact.

You'll oversee the daily operations of one of BCRTA's maintenance facilities, ensuring our buses, service vehicles, equipment, and technicians are prepared to safely deliver reliable transportation to thousands of passengers every day.

    You'll have responsibility for:

    • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of maintenance technicians

    • Planning and prioritizing preventive maintenance and repair schedules

    • Ensuring fleet availability while minimizing downtime

    • Managing shop workflow, staffing, and daily operations

    • Monitoring maintenance quality, productivity, and safety

    • Maintaining compliance with DOT, FTA, OSHA, EPA, and BCRTA standards

    • Managing inventory, vendor relationships, and equipment resources

    • Partnering with Operations to keep service running smoothly

    • Building a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement

At BCRTA, we believe maintenance should be driven by information—not guesswork.

You'll work with digital scheduling tools, HRIS technology, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), electronic work orders, and performance dashboards that help you make informed decisions.

We're looking for a leader who appreciates the value of technology, embraces continuous improvement, and enjoys finding better ways to operate.

If organized shops, accurate data, efficient workflows, and measurable results excite you, you'll feel right at home.

You're the kind of leader people naturally follow.

You've earned respect by working alongside technicians, solving difficult problems, and setting high expectations for yourself and your team.

You communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure, and believe accountability and respect go hand in hand.

You enjoy coaching employees, developing talent, and celebrating success while never losing sight of safety, quality, and customer service.

Most importantly, you see challenges as opportunities and approach every day with a positive, solutions-focused mindset.

This is more than a maintenance management position.

It's an opportunity to influence the direction of an agency that's investing in its people, equipment, technology, and future.

You'll report directly to the Director of Maintenance & Infrastructure, collaborate with agency leadership, and have the autonomy to improve processes, develop employees, and build a maintenance operation that sets the standard for public transit.

If you've been waiting for the opportunity to lead—not just supervise—and want your ideas to matter, this is your chance.
