This role will be responsible for the quality control of all bulk production of Benefit products.  They will receive product submissions from our suppliers, test per Benefit testing procedures, provide dispositions, and record all testing results.  They will also be responsible to maintain all documents and systems associated with bulk release, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, and organize all master and sample retains in the lab.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Receive, test, and evaluate incoming production samples
  • Establish new product masters as necessary per the master expiration dates
  • Develop, modify, and validate test methods as needed and communicate these to subcontractors when necessary.
  • Troubleshoot rework procedures with subcontractors to control out of specification results.
  • Collect retains samples, log test results, and request certificates of analysis for all batches received.
  • Retest expired bulk as needed
  • Maintain all testing data in the data management system and provide required data for quality KPIs
  • Analyze bulk release data to determine which formulas can be set for self-release by subcontractors
  • Assist Product Lab Manager with filling of samples for stability testing and perform stability testing

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Cosmetics Science, or a related scientific field preferred. Associate's degree with relevant experience will be considered.
  • 1-3 years prior experience and/or strong interest in working in a lab/test environment, strongly desired
  • Demonstrated experience with bulk product inspection and release processes is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in conducting sensory and physical testing, including pH, viscosity, and specific gravity measurements.
  • Proven familiarity with laboratory equipment calibration, operation, and routine maintenance.

 

Schedule:

  • Hybrid – Onsite presence required at Benefit HQ 3x per week

The target salary range for this position is $34.62/hr-$43.27/hr. The actual salary offered is based on market location and will depend on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, years of relevant experience; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. This position is eligible to earn an annual bonus.
