The Role
We are looking for a Betting Risk Officer to monitor customer activity and betting patterns, manage risk, prevent fraud, and ensure accurate application of betting limits. The role also involves approving bets, analyzing performance data, and coordinating with feed providers to maintain integrity and profitability across sportsbook operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Profile and segment customers (e.g., Class A & B) based on risk levels and behavior
- Monitor customer activity to detect irregular or high-risk patterns
- Set, adjust, and enforce betting and event limits accordingly
- Identify potentially fraudulent behaviour and take appropriate action
- Approves bets based on customer risk profiles, ensures limits are maintained accurately, and flags anomalies in betting patterns
- Communicate directly with feed providers regarding data accuracy and pricing issues
- Resolve discrepancies related to odds and settlements
- Investigate suspicious transactions and alerts
- Apply established procedures for account actions
- Conduct detailed analysis and maintain proper documentation of findings
- Prepare regular reports on risk exposure and profitability
- Analyze trends to identify potential vulnerabilities in sportsbook operations
- Recommend strategies to mitigate risk and improve performance
- Ensures compliance and accuracy in back-office systems
- Validate feed provider data and correct inconsistencies
- Suggest and implement corrective actions to improve processes and reduce overall risk exposure
- Assist the Head of Operations with pricing-related tasks, testing potential new products and any other related operational initiatives
Who We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3–4 years of relevant professional experience is considered an advantage
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities; willingness to work on a rotating shift schedule (5 days per week) covering hours between 09:00 and 01:00, including weekends and public holidays
- Fluency in Greek and English, both written and verbal
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
